Last time I checked the leader of the displaced Arab nomad group in the West Bank called Fatah was not a national leader or ally. Considering all the other key allies who have stood by the United States, why was this gentleman first on the new president's call list?

Next came the series of executive orders that commanded we shut down Guantanamo Bay detention facility, stop any harsh treatment of terrorists and ceased any ongoing military trials against those being held. Now just recently we have heard from the infamous GITMO 5 who have claimed they take utmost pride in what they have accomplished, including the atrocities of 9/11.

We know that some 60 released detainees went right back to the battlefield to include several who are now leaders in Yemen and Afghanistan. Some would say this recidivism rate is low – but not when you are the American man or woman in uniform overseas fighting."

“"Permaculture is ultimately subversive because it aims to decentralise food production," says Palmer. "People have fun planting a carrot when actually what they are doing is quite radical.

First up, a couple of weeks ago I was invited to a rather flash inner-city terrace house for a kind of dinner and meeting thang organised by a bunch of decent Christians who genuinely er, support Israel per se. Lots of yodelling birdie tenor voices and the same natural rhythm as an unpacked IKEA desk. Ah, add Bulgarian throat singing and it’s a perfect evening of musical hell.

Man, I had to do something short of suicide. There’s or mine. I searched through their extensive CD collection. Extensive in that it extended a certain physical distance, but somewhat shorter musically. Beethoven, Christian, Brahms, Handel, Christian, Handel, Christian, oh, Bach! More Christian and one lonely Louis Armstrong remainder bin collection for $3.99 with food stamps.

The only er, joke about any religion was not about Muslims per se, but two typical fake ones about golly, Jews and Christians. How freaking daring. Maybe the ones about Koran inspired head slicers were later on, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Yeah, if the Chaser did a world tour parodying Christianity, they could support an aged Dave Allen and nothing would happen. If they did one seriously mocking Islam, the headline would more likely be “CHASER TOUR CANCELLED DUE TO THE DEATH OF ENTIRE CAST”.

I get creeped out at the universal acceptance of the same old ripe canards presented as observable facts when they ain’t.

Once at the Esplanade hotel, after watching ten alleged comics in a row do their wiener spined conceit of “John Howard is a fucker, fascist, Hitler and The Borg” shtick, it occurred to me that left comedians doing left comedy at a left hangout to a left audience is not really a challenge.

The idea of merely just doing stand-up is not actually that appealing to me per se. Why bother if it ain't explosively outstanding damn good value for your money and time and leads to something else? Something more than say old carpet? Still, it's a larf.

In the latest edition on page two of the official Port Phillip Council newsletter with the more than ironic and predictable banner of “Divercity”, is a picture of Cr Frank O’Connor with his arm around a couple of guys dressed as nuns for er, gay pride day. Proud to dress as a done to death joke I guess. I guess their standards would find blackface unacceptable.


Of course the bleeding obvious total safety of ragging Christians with tiresome camp deviancy is viewed as wacky, daring and thus entirely acceptable. It’s entirely normal cos people are dumber than dog hair.

What are the chances of seeing Adrian and Sandy dressed in a full burkha and as an Imam respectively, so to speak? Zero. That’s how fake and enforced their idea of freedom and rebellion is. A diversity of their opinions only and read as left.

It’s like the ads I used to see for musicians wanted scrawled illegibly on an instrument store notice board. The alleged influences almost invariably a tedious list of twenty teen bands just like them. But of course in such dullard minds the old joke of “we play both country and western” could never apply to their alternative delusions.

This is why the opinions of musicians, actors, artists and comedians are basically interchangeable. They reference mostly each other who reference each other who...

But I don't digress. No matter how much comedians are the latest thang, it's bucketing from the same predictably shallow political and ideological well. Even last nights which was a lot of fun and had a lot of potential talent, still had a compulsory and compulsive “Bush is dumb” joke. Yes, an unexpected and inspiring riot.

As Christopher Hitchens perfectly said, “This is the stupid joke that all stupid people can always laugh at”.

There is no courage, originality or truth in this mating call of the leftard. When I hear such a cry of the mediocre in a wasteland of original ideas, I can almost feel what little air there was in the room being sucked out like a scene from an air disaster film. When the choice of material is more laughable than the act, well, you have no act.

If ones supposed creative armoury contains this kind of fatuous level of innate boredom, then you have no material. And once I hear it, I don’t care about anything they may happen to parrot drivel after that.

Colonel Neville: I went to a parent’s rather naff as per usual get together of the affable and innocent at my son’s school. One Mom spoke of how disappointing one of the local contributions of fairy bread and lamingtons were to last years er, “Harmony Day” AKA worshipping the false god of multicultism day. Look, it's a nice and normal thing to get everyone wearing wacky alleged ideas of ethnicity and bringing piles of Mom's specialty to school. Ah, but it reveals so many levels and there is so little time.

Melbourne has around 45,000 different places to eat covering everything one can imagine, and little of it is poisonous, requires a bribe or is unhygienic, unless you go to the wrong parts of Little Saigon. Myself I prefer the humour of lamingtons and fairy bread to the zero laughs of little to no food of a third-world no picnic basketcase.

Re the perhaps illusion of ethnic food diversity, I remember how my Italian and Asian misspent youth friends, would invariably complain about the “same old Wog” and “Cambo food!” The thing about ethnic alleged diversity is that within each ethnic group there is naturally often little to no diversity. That’s why they are a distinct ethnic group. Ta dah!

My parents were English. So food as I knew it via my Mother, would be any over boiled vegetable left to dry up in the oven with a tasteless rubber ring of ersatz "gravy". She could cook and so could my Father per se, but all I had to say was "hey, this is great!" and I'd never see that dish again. English food could be so bad that one waited for the English weather to lift the mood.

But I digress. Then there was the old saw of “Australia has no culture”. Quite. THE perfect canard for the culturally adrift, indoctrinated and self-loathing. “When I hear the word culture I reach for my Luger”, as some horrible old Nazi said.

If culture is like an old hopelessly obsolete and restrictive dress, or an incredibly old cheese that's so stale, rotten and putrefied that everyone keeps as far away from it as possible, then sure. But if culture is shared and fully alive behaviours and methods for living a worthwhile life in a worthwhile place and over time, is proven traditions and human scale values entirely based on expectations and trust, then Australia indeed has a culture.

And I’d say that being the direct beneficiaries of the greatness and glory of the Western Canon via British culture and her Parliamentary democracy, the richness of American freedom and innovation, the profundity of Europe, the Enlightenment, the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution, the Greeks and Romans and so on, is pretty much a culture by any measure.

Here’s a fact. No other culture whatever their merit, is as great in economical, religious, political, artistic freedom and massive unprecedented success as the free West. My wife is Japanese and we both dig Japan. But she came to the West of the Anglosphere of Australia, America, Britain and Western Europe etc, because even compared to the very advanced and groovy old Japan; the West still has the most truly free air to breath.

Modern Japan is so very Japanese through its Westernisation, dig? Without the West, there is no East as we know it.

Don't get me wrong. I don't really want to live in a mono-culture. It's a often a drag and the kinds of places that are mono are often where the trouble comes from. Though Japan has not suffered really at all for their total lack of multicultism, in fact it's what makes Japan such unique fun and a great success by any measurement of success.

But no. Harmony Day by its very title presupposes that there is somehow disharmony that has to be, in that great clichéd and meaningless PC phrase of our time, “addressed”. Myself, I’ve got through my entire life without addressing anything.

And where is that disharmony coming from? Without saying a word, we know by default its PC assumed it's rarely any ethnic group, eh?

Ironic that the ONLY places in the world that ALLOW multiculturalism meaning the free West, then absurdly can't stop wringing their hands over imagined PC infractions. Pathetic and sickening really.

Apart from an amusing day of international recipe swapping in ridiculous clothes that no-one actually wears, what’s the point of Harmony Day exactly that does not by virtual default, denote a kind of amorphous desperation and lack of confidence by the host culture? Is it really about a rather self-conscious corny rainbow of oneness? Or maintaining a daffy separateness that logically ends in atomisation? Your guess is as good as mine, folks. But I've experienced the atomisation up close and it ain't a thing of beauty.

Is it now compulsory to like all cultures and even the ones hey, you don’t and never will? Why?

Why is not so required to appreciate one’s own culture in the same ways? Nope, that’s laughably “racist!” One can almost see the neurotic billboards saying “look how tolerant we are!” and “I’m not a racist!” Why bother? People babble on like Touret’s Syndrome afflicted PC twerps about racism, when no-one can ever supply me with the name of a single local racist. Quite frankly, talk of racism is the same as droning on about drugs; it bores me to death.

All talk of "racism" almost invariably involves simple minded idiots and world class bores.

Apparently bringing thousands of years of human nature projected through the dark tunnel of history and into a single geographical area, with good intentions and happy smiles all around, will somehow be mathematically pretty positive. And naturally discussing any glaring flaws in this is wrong, because there are no serious flaws in multiculturalism. Er, no.

PC multiculturalism makes fools and intellectually illiterate incompetents of us all.

But then as Mark Steyn said, “multiculturalism absolves you from learning anything about another culture: you just feel good about it and go to the restaurants”. Great. My favourite kind of food is free food!

We have atomised our own society via decades of Marxist left liberal product fraud. You know, every culture is great but ours. And through teaching nothing of what makes our lives so uniquely bright and blessed in the otherwise dark tunnel of history, we have made many in our own culture incurious, indoctrinated children of perpetual irrational grievance, where even adults aspire to be teenagers forever. Thus we end up with a strange, passive aggressive local citizenry with seeming random values open to easy and cheap manipulation.

Read The Death Of The Grown Up by Diana West on how young people no longer aspire to adulthood as such, but to a perpetual teenage. And adults in turn aspire down to a kind of eternal adolescence.

No child at my son’s school is specifically taught anything as culturally confident and mature as the glory and greatness of the Western Canon, from the Enlightenment, to the Renaissance, the Founding Fathers and the industrial revolution etc. No one is either specifically taught a conservative principle or thinking skills. Not one. They prefer fashionably vague and secular ideas of being “tolerant” and nice to each other but without any serious judgement.

Quite frankly I don't want to as they say, tolerate the intolerant.

That’s because unlike diversity, which is always considered essentially good: discrimination is thought of as essentially bad. Sadly, discrimination, or the ability to make a logical choice between good and evil, creative and destructive, smart and stupid or shit and clay, is the basis of rational thought.

Nope, instead there’s “Harmony Day” next week, and as the flier says “..help us celebrate our cultural diversity”. Help me!

If I had three kids, I'd dress one as Churchill, one as General Patton and the other as Ronald Reagan. Celebrate that.

By its very PC title, it assumes that there is disharmony and hell there is now, because we have er, “diversity”. Whatever diversity means, but it’s usually assumed to be a positive only spoiled by troublesome people who are allegedly "fascist." Rather ironic considering that the form and direction of multiculturalism has never been voted on, but instead enforced entirely by the state.

The assumption appears to be that the citizens of Australia are too racist too appreciate how wonderful diversity is for them. That’s unless they can afford to live in the more affluent suburbs which are invariably less hey, diverse. And deliciously where you are more likely to find the very people who frame our suicidal laws. And who invariably call anyone that questions their doctrinaire bunk, a racist and thus sub par to them because those in charge are never bigots.

Diversity is not a given good. It just means different. Thus one can find a diverse range of skin diseases. Or within our own society, people have atomised into a kind affluent faux tribalism, each group often more tedious and limiting than the next. But invariably it’s shown as the local culture as the problem and you know that they mean the white Judeo Christian culture, as they are naturally so they say relentlessly, the ones creating the er, discord. Proportionately that's balls, old boy.

As time drags on and over the last four decades, the compulsory teaching of the politics and ideology of essentially nihilist despair have the desired effect. Think of the front group mass movements of environmentalism, critical theory and PCism etc. They are all essentially negative, miserable, boring and well, damn unsexy tripe. And thus I cant even begin to speak to people I assume are adults because outside of their specialty, they often don’t know anything and are invariably uninterested.

But I digress. The news item that grabbed me was of an assault on the Police by a gang of sub-creep crackers. What interested me is that the Police had apparently no competence in tactics, combat, restraint, assertiveness or using their weapons. And then an officer is left paralysed and brain damaged and said thug geeks get off. No, really. An excerpt from the news item is at the end of this laugh a minute post.

Australian Police routed and one officer paralysed by the Mclod inbred trash family who later are let off by the judge. Gee, why does this give me zero confidence?




I learnt the truth while working in in security etc, that you can no longer defend yourself, any one else or support the Police without serious financial, physical and mental risk. There is a very good chance that the law will NOT be on your side. The Police will NOT be on your side. The Police will NOT turn up more than around 40% of the time. When they do, they are NOT that good. And dear reader, the mass of the public will NOT help the Police or anyone. They'll watch, feebly make a comment, ignore it and walk on or cheer and join in: on the winning side.

When the old Bill do amazingly arrest someone, you may indeed see the offender around your place of business by morning, laughing away at you. The law is truly blind and sadly also deaf, dumb and stupid.

There are many good Police, and many of those resign in droves on average after only a few years.

Now the training the Police receive in effective combat skills are surprizingly and grossly inadequate for as an ex-Policeman said “it’s up to you to get the training”. And boy, does it show. Policemen wrestling like school boys with trash. And apparently up to one third of Police are female and they want to make it more! A joke I’m afraid. It will doom us all. Generally, middle-eastern and black males do NOT respect female Police officers or any female authority figure really. So good luck, ya gonna need it.

Wait until the big societal breakdowns. The Police will be overwhelmed and massively outnumbered and outgunned defending their own home and families. There'll be NO law enforcement on the streets, just the mob and the gangs with the guns, and not the law abiding and unarmed citizen.

Unless you are a lawyer, a Doctor, a combat defence/restraint specialist and SOMEBODY, and you can predict the future of the chaos and madness of a real street fight, do nothing and help no one. No, really.

I was a security guard when the licensed venue I worked in had two long time criminals on methamphetamine and Jack Daniels threaten to murder and rob the venue, and then they assaulted customers and staff. Then they tried to kill my security partner with bar stools. Everyone froze except me. Fifteen people and all rather spineless, sports.

Inside I didn't feel so swell and leisurely myself. One of my first thoughts was "hey, I think I may just die tonight and I’m not going to see my family again. And gee, how ungroovy".

I stopped them both by hand so to speak, and I was the one in trouble. While my partner thanked me for as he said “saving my life” and the staff wrote fine letters on how brave I was blah, blah, I was essentially and utterly alone afterwards. As the company I worked for said "we're 100% behind you!" They were. All the way back to France by my estimate.

Yes, while fighting for several lives, I should have stopped for a conference to check I was being “proportionate”. Er, no. If I could go back in time, I would have done precisely nothing.

Oh, except to say to the management as they asked me to deal with the problem that "gee, this is probably a bad time, but here's my resignation and goodnight". No, really. I suggest you do the same unless you really believe you are prepared to risk EVERYTHING and alone and all for nothing. Are you? Ok, if it all goes relaively well then you're in the newspaper for a whole day. Yippee yawn kie yay.

And if it doesn't, you're in a shit load of trouble for how long exactly?

Excerpt via yahoo news: “Perth policeman Matthew Butcher was left paralysed and with brain damage and sight impairment after he was knocked unconscious by a head butt during a fracas outside the Joondalup Old Bailey Tavern in February last year.

A jury on Thursday found Robert McLeod, 56, and his sons Barry McLeod, 29 and Scott McLeod, 35, not guilty on all counts of assaulting Constable Butcher. Barry McLeod was alleged to have endangered the life of Constable Butcher by felling him with what prosecutors described as a "flying head butt".

In the only guilty verdict against the men, Scott McLeod was found to have made threats to kill a civilian who recorded the incident on his mobile phone.

Family, friends and colleagues of Const Butcher say they are in a state of disbelief over the verdicts. Mr Rudd said he was shocked by the front-page report of the jury verdict in the West Australian newspaper.

"I had to read it twice," he told Fairfax Radio Network.

Hidden persuaders.

A term used by Geoffrey Dean and Ivan Kelly (2003) to describe affective, perceptual, and cognitive biases or illusions that lead to erroneous beliefs. Examples of hidden persuaders abound.

Self-deception.

Self-deception is the process or fact of misleading ourselves to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid. Self-deception, in short, is a way we justify false beliefs to ourselves.

When philosophers and psychologists discuss self-deception, they usually focus on unconscious motivations and intentions. They also usually consider self-deception as a bad thing, something to guard against. To explain how self-deception works, they focus on self-interest, prejudice, desire, insecurity, and other psychological factors unconsciously affecting in a negative way the will to believe.

A common example would be that of a parent who believes his child is telling the truth even though the objective evidence strongly supports the claim that the child is lying.

The parent, it is said, deceives him or herself into believing the child because the parent desires that the child tell the truth. A belief so motivated is usually considered more flawed than one due to lack of ability to evaluate evidence properly. The former is considered to be a kind of moral flaw, a kind of dishonesty, and irrational. Cognitive dissonance.

"Cognitive dissonance is a theory of human motivation that asserts that it is psychologically uncomfortable to hold contradictory cognition's. This theory was first explored in detail by social psychologist Leon Festinger, who described it this way:

Two opinions, or beliefs, or items of knowledge are dissonant with each other if they do not fit together; that is, if they are inconsistent, or if, considering only the particular two items, one does not follow from the other (Festinger 1956: 25).

He argued that there are three ways to deal with cognitive dissonance. He did not consider these mutually exclusive.

1. One may try to change one or more of the beliefs, opinions, or behaviors involved in the dissonance;

2. One may try to acquire new information or beliefs that will increase the existing consonance and thus cause the total dissonance to be reduced; or,

3. One may try to forget or reduce the importance of those cognition's that are in a dissonant relationship (Festinger 1956: 25-26).

For example, people who smoke know smoking is a bad habit. Some rationalize their behavior by looking on the bright side: They tell themselves that smoking helps keep the weight down and that there is a greater threat to health from being overweight than from smoking. Others quit smoking.

Most of us are clever enough to come up with ad hoc hypotheses or rationalizations to save cherished notions. Why we can't apply this cleverness more competently is not explained by noting that we are led to rationalize because we are trying to reduce or eliminate cognitive dissonance.

Barnum effect.

The Barnum effect is the name given to a type of subjective validation in which a person finds personal meaning in statements that could apply to many people.

For example:

You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself. While you have some personality weaknesses you are generally able to compensate for them. You have considerable unused capacity that you have not turned to your advantage. At times you have serious doubts whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing.

If these statements sound like they came from a newsstand astrology book, that may be because they did. Such statements are sometimes called Barnum statements and they are an effective element in the repertoire of anyone doing readings: astrologers, palm readers, psychics, rumpologists and so on.

If the statements appear on a personality inventory that one believes has been especially prepared for you alone, one often validates the accuracy of such statements and thereby gives validity to the instrument used to arrive at them.

If Barnum statements are validated when they have originated during a psychic reading, the validation is taken as also validating the psychic powers of the medium.

A collective hallucination is a sensory hallucination induced by the power of suggestion to a group of people. It generally occurs in heightened emotional situations, especially among the religiously devoted. The expectancy and hope of bearing witness to a miracle, combined with long hours of staring at an object or place, makes certain religious persons susceptible to seeing such things as weeping statues, moving icons and holy portraits, or the Virgin Mary in the clouds.

Those witnessing a "miracle" agree in their hallucinatory accounts because they have the same preconceptions and expectations. Furthermore, dissimilar accounts converge towards harmony as time passes and the accounts get retold. Those who see nothing extraordinary and admit it are dismissed as not having faith. Some, no doubt, see nothing but "rather than admit they failed...would imitate the lead given by those who did, and subsequently believe that they had in fact observed what they had originally only pretended to observe....(Rawcliffe, 114).

Not all collective hallucinations are religious, of course. In 1897, Edmund Parish reported of shipmates who had shared a ghostly vision of their cook who had died a few days earlier. The sailors not only saw the ghost, but distinctly saw him walking on the water with his familiar and recognizable limp. Their ghost turned out to be a "piece of wreck, rocked up and down by the waves" (Parish, 311; cited in Rawcliffe, 115)

Communal reinforcement.

Communal reinforcement is the process by which a claim becomes a strong belief through repeated assertion by members of a community. The process is independent of whether the claim has been properly researched or is supported by empirical data significant enough to warrant belief by reasonable people. Often, the mass media contribute to the process by uncritically supporting the claims.

More often, however, the mass media provide tacit support for untested and unsupported claims by saying nothing skeptical about even the most outlandish of claims.

Communal reinforcement explains how entire nations can pass on ineffable gibberish from generation to generation. It also explains how testimonials reinforced by other testimonials within the community of therapists, sociologists, psychologists, theologians, politicians, talk show hosts, etc., can supplant and be more powerful than scientific studies or accurate gathering of data by disinterested parties.

Communal reinforcement explains, in part, why about half of all American adults deny evolution occurred and believe that God created the universe in six days,* made the first man and woman out of clay, and a snake talked the woman into disobeying an order from God thereby causing all our problems. It also explains how otherwise rational and intelligent people can be persuaded to accept such stories as true when they are provided by a comforting community in a time of great emotional need.


Every cult leader knows the value of communal reinforcement combined with isolating cult members from contrary ideas.

Academy Award winning film maker Oliver Stone, recently visited Nazi Germany and over several days interviewed the Fuhrer while a guest at Hitler’s residence, known as ‘The Beagles Hair’. I asked Stone about the documentary’s release. “I’ll be releasing a Directors cut soon in a boxed set of eighty seven DVD’s. I think, and I’m just being honest here, it will be seen as a major event and a great work of art”.
