AMERICAN president Barack Obama's half brother was REFUSED a visa to enter the UK after being accused of an attempted sex attack on a young girl in Berkshire. The News of the World can reveal that Kenya-based Samson Obama tried to get into Britain on his way to Washington for his family's big day, the historic inauguration in January.

But eagle-eyed immigration officials at East Midlands Airport, using the latest biometric tests, discovered he was linked to an incident here last November. The hi-tech database revealed that Samson - who manages a mobile phone shop just outside Nairobi - was the same man arrested by British police after he approached a group of young girls, including a 13 year-old, and allegedly tried to sexually assault one of them.

He then followed them into a cafe where he became aggressive and was asked to leave by the owner. That's when police were called and Samson was arrested.

A stewardess from nearby Nottingham told her local newspaper how she met him on his flight to America. Dawn Stewart, of Sherwood, described how Samson told her his nickname was Abo and said he was on his way to the US capital for the presidential swearing-in.

All told, Ayers and Weatherman were responsible for some 30 bombings aimed at destroying the defense and security infrastructures of the United States. "I don't regret setting bombs, said Ayers in 2001, "I feel we didn't do enough." In Fugitive Days, Ayers reflects on whether or not he might use bombs against the U.S. in the future: "I can't imagine entirely dismissing the possibility," he writes.

Today Ayers is a professor of education and a Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois.

In the mid-1990s, Ayers and Dohrn hosted meetings at their Chicago home to introduce Barack Obama to their neighbors during his first run for the Illinois Senate. Ayers also contributed money to Obama’s 1996 Senate campaign.

In 1995 Obama was appointed as the first Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), a “school reform organization” founded by Ayers, who would later write, in his book Teaching Toward Freedom, that his educational objective was to “teach against oppression” as embodied in “America’s history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation.”

When National Review Online writer Stanley Kurtz in 2008 asked the Obama presidential campaign about the nature of its candidate's connection to Ayers, the campaign issued a statement claiming that Ayers had not been involved in the “recruitment” of Obama to the CAC board in 1995. But when Kurtz reviewed the CAC archives at the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he found that Ayers in fact had been one of five members of a working group that assembled the initial CAC board which hired Obama.

“Ayers founded CAC and was its guiding spirit,” Kurtz wrote in September 2008. “No one would have been appointed the CAC chairman without his approval.” According to Kurtz, the CAC archives show that Obama and Ayers worked as a team to advance the foundation's agenda -- with Obama responsible for fiscal matters while Ayers focused on shaping educational policy. The archived documents further reveal that Ayers served as an ex-officio member of the board that Obama chaired through CAC's first year; that Ayers served with Obama on the CAC governance committee; and that Ayers worked with Obama to write CAC’s bylaws.

A September 2008 WorldNetDaily report offers still more details: “Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Obama. Ayers also spoke for the Chicago School Reform Collaborative before Obama's board, while Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the collaborative … According to the documents, the CAC granted money to far-leftist causes, such as the radical Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, which …has done work on behalf of Obama's presidential campaign.”

In 1999 Ayers joined the Woods Fund of Chicago, where he served as a director alongside Barack Obama until the latter left the Woods board in December 2002. In 2002 (while Obama was still on the board), the Woods Fund made a grant to Northwestern University Law School's Children and Family Justice Center, where Ayers' wife, Bernardine Dohrn, was employed.

At a 2007 reunion of former members of the Weather Underground and Students for a Democratic Society, Ayerscomplained about “a kind of rising incipient American form of fascism,” and about America’s “jingoistic patriotism, unprecedented and unapologetic military expansion, white supremacy … attacks on women and girls, violent attacks, growing surveillance in every sphere of our lives … the targeting of gay and lesbian people …”

In 2008 the Obama campaign produced a “fact sheet” pronouncing Ayers and Dohrn to be "respectable" members of the "mainstream" community."

Self-deception.

Cognitive dissonance.

"Cognitive dissonance is a theory of human motivation that asserts that it is psychologically uncomfortable to hold contradictory cognition's. The theory is that dissonance, being unpleasant, motivates a person to change his cognition, attitude, or behavior. This theory was first explored in detail by social psychologist Leon Festinger, who described it this way:

Dissonance and consonance are relations among cognition's that is, among opinions, beliefs, knowledge of the environment, and knowledge of one's own actions and feelings. Two opinions, or beliefs, or items of knowledge are dissonant with each other if they do not fit together; that is, if they are inconsistent, or if, considering only the particular two items, one does not follow from the other (Festinger 1956: 25).

He argued that there are three ways to deal with cognitive dissonance. He did not consider these mutually exclusive.

1. One may try to change one or more of the beliefs, opinions, or behaviors involved in the dissonance;

2. One may try to acquire new information or beliefs that will increase the existing consonance and thus cause the total dissonance to be reduced; or,

3. One may try to forget or reduce the importance of those cognition's that are in a dissonant relationship (Festinger 1956: 25-26).

For example, people who smoke know smoking is a bad habit. Some rationalize their behavior by looking on the bright side: They tell themselves that smoking helps keep the weight down and that there is a greater threat to health from being overweight than from smoking. Others quit smoking.

Most of us are clever enough to come up with ad hoc hypotheses or rationalizations to save cherished notions. Why we can't apply this cleverness more competently is not explained by noting that we are led to rationalize because we are trying to reduce or eliminate cognitive dissonance.

Barnum effect.

The Barnum effect is the name given to a type of subjective validation in which a person finds personal meaning in statements that could apply to many people.

For example:

You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself. While you have some personality weaknesses you are generally able to compensate for them. You have considerable unused capacity that you have not turned to your advantage. At times you have serious doubts whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing.

If these statements sound like they came from a newsstand astrology book, that may be because they did. Such statements are sometimes called Barnum statements and they are an effective element in the repertoire of anyone doing readings: astrologers, palm readers, psychics, rumpologists and so on.

If the statements appear on a personality inventory that one believes has been especially prepared for you alone, one often validates the accuracy of such statements and thereby gives validity to the instrument used to arrive at them.

If Barnum statements are validated when they have originated during a psychic reading, the validation is taken as also validating the psychic powers of the medium.


"Barnum effect" is an expression that seems to have originated with psychologist Paul Meehl, in deference to circus man P. T. Barnum's reputation as a master psychological manipulator who is said to have claimed "we have something for everybody."

Collective hallucination.

A collective hallucination is a sensory hallucination induced by the power of suggestion to a group of people. It generally occurs in heightened emotional situations, especially among the religiously devoted. The expectancy and hope of bearing witness to a miracle, combined with long hours of staring at an object or place, makes certain religious persons susceptible to seeing such things as weeping statues, moving icons and holy portraits, or the Virgin Mary in the clouds.

Those witnessing a "miracle" agree in their hallucinatory accounts because they have the same preconceptions and expectations. Furthermore, dissimilar accounts converge towards harmony as time passes and the accounts get retold. Those who see nothing extraordinary and admit it are dismissed as not having faith. Some, no doubt, see nothing but "rather than admit they failed...would imitate the lead given by those who did, and subsequently believe that they had in fact observed what they had originally only pretended to observe....(Rawcliffe, 114).

Not all collective hallucinations are religious, of course. In 1897, Edmund Parish reported of shipmates who had shared a ghostly vision of their cook who had died a few days earlier. The sailors not only saw the ghost, but distinctly saw him walking on the water with his familiar and recognizable limp. Their ghost turned out to be a "piece of wreck, rocked up and down by the waves" (Parish, 311; cited in Rawcliffe, 115)

Communal reinforcement.

Communal reinforcement is the process by which a claim becomes a strong belief through repeated assertion by members of a community. The process is independent of whether the claim has been properly researched or is supported by empirical data significant enough to warrant belief by reasonable people. Often, the mass media contribute to the process by uncritically supporting the claims.

More often, however, the mass media provide tacit support for untested and unsupported claims by saying nothing skeptical about even the most outlandish of claims.

Communal reinforcement explains how entire nations can pass on ineffable gibberish from generation to generation. It also explains how testimonials reinforced by other testimonials within the community of therapists, sociologists, psychologists, theologians, politicians, talk show hosts, etc., can supplant and be more powerful than scientific studies or accurate gathering of data by disinterested parties.

Communal reinforcement explains, in part, why about half of all American adults deny evolution occurred and believe that God created the universe in six days,* made the first man and woman out of clay, and a snake talked the woman into disobeying an order from God thereby causing all our problems. It also explains how otherwise rational and intelligent people can be persuaded to accept such stories as true when they are provided by a comforting community in a time of great emotional need.

You see, we went for a lovely coastal holiday for a few days in an actual resort, with a pool and air conditioning. Ah, I love capitalist democracy and I can't wait to be part of it! To paraphrase P.J O'Rourke, Ferrari, swimming pools, Marvin Gaye and dentistry alone, prove the superiority of the free West.

The resort was a swingin’ place near to where I used to go as a child for Christmas holidays. Sadly, the true memory of those long ago days was not so great. It was nearly all in my lonely head and the landscape and being away from the profoundly dreary and empty suburb I grew up or was it down in? But I digress. Even the words "swimming pool" are a beautiful and inspiring thing. While swimming in said fantastic elevated and roofed over pool, with it’s glassed over doors swung wide open, I thought how I want a better level of life, much like that one. This requires me to get successful at something, and what I do naturally is think, create, speak, analyse and perform etc, etc. Or as someone said or “die trying”.

Thus I do have to go rather all out on concentrating on my er, performance, for what it's worth. Even those who say they believe in you, don’t really. Not until you make it. Meaning everyone else says you have made it and gives you money. Lots of it. Crazy but true. I did my first humorist act such as it was, a week ago today. It was 45 degrees Celsius, apparently the hottest night on record and I later collapsed with heat exhaustion. I give the material an A, but the act a C. Too much sounding out and caring whether people might be disturbed etc. Well that’s my excuse for inexperience. Ah, but I know what to do next time, and there will be many next times. No time left for not exploding on stage, you see.

As for being just another stand up comedian, I get bored thinking about it. I want to expound, uproar, play guitar and entertain and so on. One could be controversial by the simple technique of saying the opposite of allegedly “controversial” comics who are not controversial or rebellious in the slightest. Unless you count be completely safe in your controversy, controversial. Ah la the entirely predictable. A joke headline I made up goes 'left comic see’s performing Left comedy before a Left audience as “a challenge”. Quite true and sadly, this is the dominant paradigm over and over again. Thus I don’t care what such people say, because they are misinformed, essentially conformist, mediocre and spineless. I may be wrong but I’m not.

So while we’re on holiday, the first consistently hot weather crushes Melbourne as the power grid and more collapses and people go peculiar and much more. Funny how many of the same people who say how terrible the experience of a heatwave is, expect the Israeli’s to tolerate over 8,000 rockets and mortars fired into their cities, and over 100 attempted homicide/suicide bombing a day while the Jews are surrounded by 23 Muslim shit piles bent on murdering and annihilating them all.

It is to laugh. It is an avalanche of fucked up non-thinking, sports. I feel overwhelmed sometimes by it all. I would say more than half of the indoctrinated and brainwashed lazy drones you meet seem as if they cannot think straight on even a basic mental exercise. They are slaves. No, really. And I have my own problems. And man, it amazes me that not a single figure with authority outside of Vaclav Havel, has said that hey, in the end global mass Leftard conformity ain’t healthy for anyone but nihilist’s, scam artists and madmen. Our government has not built a dam for over twenty years, preferring to let the inevitable floods go out to the sea, while endlessly nagging and enforcing the idiot view of water as a pizza slice-like zero sum game. Our government IS rather obviously going to wait until we actually do run out of water! We are at 33% average capacity. Recent rains had the potential to have doubled that. Two UCLA economists say they have figured out why the Great Depression dragged on for almost 15 years, and they blame a suspect previously thought to be beyond reproach: President Franklin D. Roosevelt. After scrutinizing Roosevelt's record for four years, Harold L. Cole and Lee E. Ohanian conclude in a new study that New Deal policies signed into law 71 years ago thwarted economic recovery for seven long years.

"Why the Great Depression lasted so long has always been a great mystery, and because we never really knew the reason, we have always worried whether we would have another 10- to 15-year economic slump," said Ohanian, vice chair of UCLA's Department of Economics. "We found that a relapse isn't likely unless lawmakers gum up a recovery with ill-conceived stimulus policies." In an article in the August issue of the Journal of Political Economy, Ohanian and Cole blame specific anti-competition and pro-labor measures that Roosevelt promoted and signed into law June 16, 1933.

"President Roosevelt believed that excessive competition was responsible for the Depression by reducing prices and wages, and by extension reducing employment and demand for goods and services," said Cole, also a UCLA professor of economics.

"So he came up with a recovery package that would be unimaginable today, allowing businesses in every industry to collude without the threat of antitrust prosecution and workers to demand salaries about 25 percent above where they ought to have been, given market forces. The economy was poised for a beautiful recovery, but that recovery was stalled by these misguided policies."
