Le Colonel Neville s’habille Tojours Pour le Diner. Semper Fi. Thomas Sowell: "There are three questions that I think would destroy most of the arguments on the left. The first is compared to what? The second is at what cost and the third is what hard evidence do you have?” Live free or die or both. Satirical empirical conservative. No, really.

The Last Of The Summer Whine: Economic Fraud and Wilful Ignorance on a Grand Scale.
Obama's balls and economic stimulus comparison via Hotair. Remember that a sphere increases mass and volume, so this has gotta hurt!
California Dreamin' The Momma's and the Poppa's.
"Giving money and power to Congress is like giving whisky and car keys to teenagers". P.J O'Rourke.
Colonel Neville: But first some Pink Floyd summing up the current state of play of Democrat etc, enviro-leftardism and rather exactly:
"We're just knocked out
We heard about the sell out
You gotta get an Album out
You owe it to the people
We're so happy we can hardly count
Everybody else is just green, have you seen the chart?
Its a helluva start, it could be made into a monster
If we all pull together as a team
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy?
We call it riding the Gravy train".
Colonel Neville: Pretty bloody right on the er, money really, eh? So after some following quotes from our technocrat PM Kevin Rudd, is Roger L. Simon, on how the ever-recurring dumb as dog hair paradigm of anti-Capitalist, anti-individual left liberal socialism fantasy "for you but not me", comes relentlessly screaming at us from places like Hollywood, University, the school, the MSM and gee, most everywhere it seems.
"When people are free to do as they please, they usually imitate each other". Eric Hoffer.
Creeping across everything with take your pick of enviro-freakism or treason and fakes like King Alberty Gore. The lie against the capitalist free market that has made our lives so very good and in so many ways, is also spread via the amazing Socialist death spiral of the European Union, the UK and so on. Hell, we have plenty of our own local brand of Internationalist tripe too. Ya gotta start somewhere. Smiley faced fascism. It's good for you and I, but apparently not for its many advocates in places like Bel Air.
Thus we get Obama's taxpayer funded faux economics and our own PM KRudd parroting paragraphs of rhetoric worthy of any Socialist state head loon. In fact straight out of Jonah Goldberg's great book [Left] Liberal Fascism.
In it as you know, Jonah explains in historically surgical detail the natural totalitarian "religion of the state" control freak drives of such people. It does fit soooo very perfectly together, is amazingly unchanging and over decades. Hey, neo-Wilson 1917 and neo-FDR 1930's New Dealers etc, are now Obama and Rudd etc.
Goldberg shows the overwhelming infatuation and profound love that much of the Left media, academia, artists and celebrities have almost always had for fascism, totalitarianism, Communism and even Nazism etc. There's so much to quote but here's one or two on Pesident Wilson of whom Walter McDougall wrote, "If any trait bubbles up in all one reads about Wilson, it is this: he loved, craved and in na sense glorified power".
President Wilson: "...a lot of nonsense has been written about the inalienable rights of the individual..."
Colonel Neville: Wilson admired Bismarck, like FDR admired Mussolini, and both saw Constitutional checks and balances as a limitation to be overcome. Both were anti-capitalist and saw few limits to government size, control, influence or power.
Wilson: "It was Jefferson who said that the best government is that which governs as little as posiible...but that time has passed. America is not now and canot in the fuure be a place for unrestricted individual enterprise".
Wilson: "Government does now whatever experience permits or the times demand".
Colonel Neville: Obama gave a speech last year in which he said his idea of a state in permanent er, "progress", will continually call upon the citizen to take part. Constant revolutionary "change", and just like Mao.
B.O by name, B.O by nature. But then, B.O's almost entire family were Commie or Muslim freaks.
And for Wilson, government was "not a machine but a living thing" that could thus expand naturally and anyone who opposed it was by default, un-natural.
"Everything in the state and nothing outside the state". Mussolini.
Well, we were warned by Soviet defectors.
Yes, now PM Kevin has written an essay. Of course he has. A man afflicted with a Touret's Syndrome of cliche has allegedly "written" within it. There is something very wrong with our fluffy Prime Minister. No, really. So in that spirit, here's a cliched quote but still a good one.
"Your manuscript is both good and original, but the part that is good is not original and the part that is original is not good". Samuel Johnson.
Kevin Rudd via Andy Bolt's blog: “...the role of the state has once more been recognised as fundamental...ensuring that government is the regulator, that government is the funder or provider of public goods and that government offsets the inevitable inequalities of the market...”
Mr Rudd writes that "the time has come, off the back of the current crisis, to proclaim that the great neo-liberal experiment of the past 30 years has failed, that the emperor has no clothes.
Neo-liberalism, and the free market fundamentalism it has produced, has been revealed as little more than personal greed dressed up as an economic philosophy."
"The challenge for social democrats today is to recast the role of the state and its associated political economy of social democracy as a comprehensive philosophical framework for the future.
In the crisis, social democrats had the great advantage of "a consistent position on the central role of the state — in contrast to neo-liberals, who now find themselves tied in ideological knots".
Rudds drivel.
Colonel Neville: Kevin Rudd is a millionaire of the political elite, who bought a multi-million dollar property in 2007, due entirely to private property rights, one of the corner stones of the capitalism that he clearly disdains [for everyone else], and the system that pays his perhaps rather undeserved wage. I should be so lucky.
California Dreamin' article via Roger L. Simon.
"...reminds us, the Congressman’s liberal entertainment constituency has been headed into the dumper for years as more and more film and television production dollars get spent in other states and overseas. Waxman is doing a lousy job for his sheep-like constituents and even a worse job for America, helping to create a creative climate in which Hollywood makes anti-American films for an increasingly important foreign audience.
Andrew’s [not Bolt] article parallels a related post on Victor Davis Hanson’s PajamasXpress blog in which he asks the question Who is the “They” now in California? Of course, Waxman has long been part of the “they,” the group in control, but in recent times, as Victor reminds us, people with similar views have taken over the entire Golden State.
I used to be one of those Californians who subscribed to those views, but now I can see those ideas have done nothing positive for my home state, which is in bankruptcy (or near it) with a dismal public school system and a decaying infrastructure. The Mamas and the Papas used to bring tears of joy to my eyes when they sang the song below. I was so relieved not to be living on the stodgy old East Coast.
Now it’s sadness. Is this lost youth? Lost idealism? Or a heavy dose of reality? The boys and girls who attacked The Man have become The Man and made things impossibly worse. They have no one to blame but themselves".
Colonel Neville: Hey Hollywoodland and California spreading manure and incompetence? What a surprise. So how big is Obama's black hole?
Surprisingly more than Clinton "earns" for touring the world blowing his grossly incompetent, empty, venal and frivoulous smoke and bullshit over all and sundry while getting blown himself, and from both ends.
Via Hotair:
“Former President Bill Clinton earned nearly $6 million in speaking fees last year, almost all of it from foreign companies, according to financial documents filed by his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The documents obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press show that $4.6 million of the former president’s reported $5.7 million in 2008 honoraria came from foreign sources, including Kuwait’s national bank, other firms and groups in Canada, Germany, India, Malaysia, Mexico and Portugal and a Hong Kong-based company that spent $100,000 on federal lobbying last year”.
Via Hotair: “I will share the numbers, though, because all of us should be shouting these comparisons from the rooftops:
• The Louisiana Purchase: $217,000,000,000. [No wonder people thought Jefferson was insane.]
• The race to the Moon: $237,000,000,000.
• The New Deal: $500,000,000,000.
• The Iraq War: $597,000,000,000.
• The Obama-Reid-Pelosi Porkfest Stimulus:$1,173,000,000,000.
The Iraq War figure uses the mathematics of its critics, which includes the normal cost of the armed forces during that time regardless of their deployment — but so much the better for this comparison. We could buy more of North America and do another moon shot, and we’d not only spend less than half of the current stimulus, we’d create a lot more jobs, too. The so-called stimulus costs more than the Iraq War and the New Deal put together”.
Colonel Neville: Sadly, two of the essential element's that drive an economy, are reducing the cost of doing business and a real demand for goods and services. Economies are NOT driven by government taking trillions from taxpayers and blowing it insanely, no matter how seemingly noble said blowing may appear to some. Hey, but what do I know? Do I have $1,173,000,000,000?
If I did, I'd increase the number of zeroes and not reduce it down to zero with the stroke of a pen. Yes, the government can always spend your money more wisely than you...Er, no.
Our PM and the US President are two fraudulent, mediocre, out of their depth economic boobs and security nincompoops for our times. God help us all cos beyond their ideological hobbies, they do not know what they are doing.
Roger L. Simon on Gore: "Am I the only one who now sees Al Gore as an object of levity?
I started giggling this evening when the D-student who couldn’t even make it through divinity school popped up on my television screen testifying yet again before Congress on matters scientific - i. e., his favorite topic: anthropogenic global warming. Like a desperate man with an inferiority complex (if we promise not to rescind his Nobel and his Oscar, maybe he’ll just go away), he keeps coming back to remind us of how much he knows when we know he knows very little.
This time the subject of his discourse was Venus and how hot it is (from carbon dioxide, of course). Steven Milloy saw the comedy as well:
Incredibly, not a Senator on the Committee questioned — much less burst into outright laughter at — Gore’s absurd point. In fact, each Senator who spoke at the hearing, including Republicans, offered little but fawning praise for Gore. It’s hard to know whether the hearing’s lovefest was simply an example of the Senate’s exaggerated sense of collegiality, appalling ignorance and gullibility about environmental science, or fear of appearing to be less green than Gore.
It is true that atmospheric CO2 warms both Venus and the Earth, but that’s about where the CO2 commonality between the two planets ends. While the Venusian atmosphere is 97 percent CO2 (970,000 parts per million), the Earth’s atmosphere is only 0.038 percent CO2 (380 parts per million). So the Venusian atmosphere’s CO2 level is more than 2,557 times greater than the Earth’s. And since the CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere is increasing by only about 2 parts per million annually, our planet is hardly being Venus-ized.
No matter. Al is in the global warming business and not even the next Ice Age will get him out of it. And as for audience of esteemed legislators listening to his babble, I have a suggestion that might help the financial crisis: fire all of them".
Commenter: "Roger, we are Californians of the same vintage, you and I. It is ineffably sad that the forgiving, free spirited, iconoclastic (and little mentioned smart-aleck Bugs Bunny) demeanor of our culture has slowly transformed to the unforgiving politically-correct homogeneity predicted by Orwell. We have become our nightmare. It seems a classic case of idealistic good intentions, unfettered by reality, gone bad.
Well, not as bad as the good intentions of socialists in Cuba, but bad enough. Unfortunately, there is no charismatic Ronald Reagan to turn things about. What was said of Ronald the Actor turned out to be true of Arnold the Actor, but since Arnie has “grown in office” the MSM protect him. I have roots that bind me here; I am encouraging my collage age kids to look elsewhere to settle".
Commenter Tomarev: "This post is the perfect display of how irrational hatred and stupidity can combine into a lethal mixture. Global warming doesn’t exist because...Al Gore is an idiot".
Colonel Neville: "Dear Tomarev: Ironically ya right. And not just cos Gore IS a dimwit, but enough of a clever con man to become uber-rich over the utter lies and mass elite manipulation of the fraud of Global Warming. Climate Change means massive faux capitalist riches for Gore and his fake followers, and Global Socialism for the rest of us masses.
In twenty years time GW will be unmentioned cos the usual phony baloney's will have a new fanta$y. Maybe back to "Global Cooling?!", Y2k, Western population explosion that never happened, minerals, oil, food etc, etc running out, blah blah. All balls.
Why can't I get a written guarantee from any GW believer? Cos it's all bullshit. That's what.
Colonel Neville". Via pajamasmedia Roger L. Simon.
Commenter Tim Maguire:
"No, Roger, you are not the only person who sees Al Gore as an object for levity. He has become an embarrassment to the global warming community. As you may have noticed, the believers have started complaining when Al Gore gets mentioned during warming debates.
Boris, Venus is a good example for people who don’t understand the greenhouse effect? Are you serious? Venus, having over 250,000% greater CO2 concentration tells us nothing about the greenhouse effect as it may play out on Earth. Cute that you tried to use Mars as supporting your point. Typical warmenist thinking–a cooling Antarctic proves global warming, oh wait, the Antarctic is warming! That proves global warming! Oh wait, the methods are a joke? Doesn’t matter.
Mars, Venus, whatever happens anywhere, it always proves global warming”.
Colonel Neville: And here at last dear reader, is the beyond belief background and foreground of the rotten lying Gore family of conman Snr and Jnr.
Mike K: "Al was born rich because his father, the Senator, got huge benefits from Armand Hammer, who also funded the early Soviet Union. This is a bit inflammatory but the basic facts are correct".
Via Joe Farrah at World Net Daily:
"With good reason the campaign wants to divert attention from the Hammer-Gore connection.
Hammer used to boast that he had Sen. Al Gore Sr. "in his back pocket." As I have reported here before, Hammer set up Gore Sr. in business before he ventured into politics, stayed close to him throughout his political career and hired him after he left office.
"Throughout the whole of his life, Al Gore Sr. and his family depended on pay-outs, kickbacks and subventions from Hammer," wrote Neil Lyndon, who worked for Hammer. "Like his father before him, Al Gore Jr.'s political career was lavishly sponsored by Hammer from the moment it began until Hammer died, only two years before Gore Clinton in the 1992 race for the White House."
Who was Hammer? He was a personal friend of V.I. Lenin. He was known as Lenin's "path" to America's financial resources. He was the first of a long line of Western businessmen to participate in KGB-controlled joint ventures in the Soviet Union.
He was the son of Julius Hammer, a founder of the Socialist Labor Party and later the Communist party USA and who served time in Sing Sing for performing illegal abortions. Armand Hammer was called the "Capitalist Prince" by the KGB. He dutifully served the Soviets for seven decades and became the first -- and only -- "American capitalist" to be awarded the Order of Lenin.
According to Edward J. Epstein's "Dossier: The Secret History of Armand Hammer," Lenin told Stalin about this so-called "industrialist": "This is a small path leading to the American 'business' world, and this path should be made use of in every way."
In other words, Hammer was a part-time spy, part-time money-launderer, part-time "industrialist" -- but a full-time traitor to the United States of America.
To the Soviet Union in his day, Hammer was a figure with much in common with the contemporary spy-cum-billionaire Mochtar Riady -- doing the bidding of socialist tyrants and making a bundle in the process..." Continue reading.
Commenter Sandra C: "What’s unforgivable about all this is that the year ‘OwlGore’ won the Nobel Prize, he won it over a REAL hero: A Christian lady (my sincere apologies for not remembering her name right now...Trudie something?) who smuggled something like 2,500 Jewish babies and young children out of the Warsaw ghetto and got them to safe places to wait out the war. This saintly lady wrote down all the information about the kids and where they went and buried them in jars in her back yard.
She trained her German Shepherd to bark whenever she had to drive up to the guard gate so the barking would cover any sound the child might be making while hidden in the bottom of her large medical bag.
She was caught eventually, tortured, had both her legs broken but survived the war. She went home and dug up the jars to try to reunite the children and their parents, but of course, the majority of those kids ended up with no parents, courtesy of the gas chambers. When she died just a few years ago, one of the ladies taking care of her was “one” of her rescued babies.
And ‘Owlgore’ won over this wonderful woman with a slide show, views from a recent movie, and false information! Obscene, obscene.
We should have a script written to document this woman’s life and have a movie made, but most of Hollywood is so into the threatened global world thing. This woman saved more people than Schindler, why hasn’t there been more publicity about her?"
Mark Steyn:
"Mr. Clinton’s gruelling schedule:
9:30 a.m. Receive prime minister of Canada (check name)
9:40 a.m. Receive “pizza” from intern (check name)
10:00:a.m. Receive cheque from shadowy Chinese arms dealer
10:10 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Golf with Vernon.
4:50 p.m. Bomb Saddam
5:00 p.m. Receive female campaign contributor
5:03 p.m. Grope breast(s)
6:50 p.m. Get back to work for the American people
7:00 p.m. Fundraiser with Streisand”.
Mark Steyn: "For Britons of a certain age, the defining moment of the pre-Thatcher years came in 1976 when the chancellor of the exchequer, Denis Healey, was forced to go cap in hand to the International Monetary Fund and seek a loan—just like any old president-for-life of one of those bankrupt banana republics dear old Bono is always urging debt relief for. But I wonder how many Brits remember the precise figure of the humongous wad of dosh Chancellor Healey so desperately needed to rescue his flailing nation?
Four billion dollars.
Bailing out a G7 economy has gotten a little pricier since those days. A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you’re talking chump change.
“Anything much less than $1 trillion,” explained Rep. Lynn Woolsey the other day, “would be like trying to put out a forest fire with a squirt gun.” A giant forest fire is ravaging the U.S. economy, and you’re standing there waggling your $700 billion squirt gun and doing nothing but watering your toecaps. As for poor Lord Healey’s $4 billion, that wouldn’t cover your squirt gun’s shipping and handling..." Continue reading at Steynonline.
