The fact is, can a massive talent like Michael Jackson ever really be washed up? Nope per se. It’s laughable to see what he could do and most others can’t, and not think well, what else is there to do? Not much, and not necessarily illegal. Well, something musically current and cutting I guess. Ah, there's "nothing more dated than the latest thing," as they say.
OK, for Mike it sure had been a long weird twilight of often re-hash while seemingly decked out in the wardrobe department of the old TV show Dallas and a funeral wholesaler from Dubai. I'm sure he could have come up with some cool new material if he could just ah... But we’ll never know now, eh?
People forget that like movie stars, pop stars just need some great new material to make the corny cliché of the “comeback". And unlike most movie stars who cannot create an original screenplay at all, Jackson could write and perform all that damn great and not so great stuff out of himself and as they say:
“a genius is someone who does easily what most others find difficult or impossible.”
Jackson had already done enough for just about anybody. And if he came up with some more swingin’ tunes, there ya go again.
There was nothing about peformance that Mike didn't know. I loved that he could sing at the top of the range with real punch, and his act always roared into town. His ability to put everything into a song: the instantly recognisable intro, verse, marvellous hooks, grooves, feel, sound, tempo and those fantastic changes and bridges. My, my. The urge to move that everyone gets when they hear a Jackson toon NEVER fades.
Now like most pop musicians regards the real and harsh world, once Jackson went beyond the personal and human condition, Mike usually had little to say of any real depth or meaning beyond well, ersatz concerns and boilerplate. Celebrities default most often to standard teenage babblings, spouting what is almost invariably sans any actual insight requiring any serious effort. Sya like reading books or gaining actual qualifications and experience in their entireley predictable pet subjects. No really.
Now I find nostalgia a draining sentimental bore, and it's a little unfair, but it’s a little amusing that acts that are allegedly so hot are rarely if ever anywhere near what Jackson is as a "wash up", or what he did before he was even a teenager. There’s room for everybody but sometimes it is to laugh, eh? Maybe some folks lack not just the often essential key driver of a poverty stricken to plain old poor background like Mike’s family had. Or for that matter the contrived lunacy and the actual insanity, though most celbrities actually are nuts,just plain dumb or both.
I aspire to be as good as Jackson. That’s Tony Jackson the fruiterer.

So today I read the entire transcript of Powell's absurdly misquoted speech, so widely judged in absentia of most any critic having read it. The average hack calls it the “rivers of blood” speech, just like the hack before and the one before that ad nauseum.

I shan’t be satisfied till I have seen them all settled overseas. In this country in 15 or 20 years’ time the black man will have the whip hand over the white man.”
I can already hear the chorus of execration. How dare I say such a horrible thing? How dare I stir up trouble and inflame feelings by repeating such a conversation?
The answer is that I do not have the right not to do so. Here is a decent, ordinary fellow Englishman, who in broad daylight in my own town says to me, his Member of Parliament, that his country will not be worth living in for his children.
I simply do not have the right to shrug my shoulders and think about something else. What he is saying, thousands and hundreds of thousands are saying and thinking – not throughout Great Britain, perhaps, but in the areas that are already undergoing the total transformation to which there is no parallel in a thousand years of English history.
In 15 or 20 years, on present trends, there will be in this country three and a half million Commonwealth immigrants and their descendants. That is not my figure. That is the official figure given to parliament by the spokesman of the Registrar General’s Office.
There is no comparable official figure for the year 2000, but it must be in the region of five to seven million, approximately one-tenth of the whole population, and approaching that of Greater London. Of course, it will not be evenly distributed from Margate to Aberystwyth and from Penzance to Aberdeen. Whole areas, towns and parts of towns across England will be occupied by sections of the immigrant and immigrant-descended population.
As time goes on, the proportion of this total who are immigrant descendants, those born in England, who arrived here by exactly the same route as the rest of us, will rapidly increase. Already by 1985 the native-born would constitute the majority. It is this fact which creates the extreme urgency of action now, of just that kind of action which is hardest for politicians to take, action where the difficulties lie in the present but the evils to be prevented or minimised lie several parliaments ahead.
The natural and rational first question with a nation confronted by such a prospect is to ask: “How can its dimensions be reduced?” Granted it be not wholly preventable, can it be limited, bearing in mind that numbers are of the essence: the significance and consequences of an alien element introduced into a country or population are profoundly different according to whether that element is 1 per cent or 10 per cent.
The answers to the simple and rational question are equally simple and rational: by stopping, or virtually stopping, further inflow, and by promoting the maximum outflow. Both answers are part of the official policy of the Conservative Party.
It almost passes belief that at this moment 20 or 30 additional immigrant children are arriving from overseas in Wolverhampton alone every week – and that means 15 or 20 additional families a decade or two hence. Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad. We must be mad, literally mad, as a nation to be permitting the annual inflow of some 50,000 dependants, who are for the most part the material of the future growth of the immigrant-descended population. It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. So insane are we that we actually permit unmarried persons to immigrate for the purpose of founding a family with spouses and fiancés whom they have never seen.
Let no one suppose that the flow of dependants will automatically tail off. On the contrary, even at the present admission rate of only 5,000 a year by voucher, there is sufficient for a further 25,000 dependants per annum ad infinitum, without taking into account the huge reservoir of existing relations in this country – and I am making no allowance at all for fraudulent entry. In these circumstances nothing will suffice but that the total inflow for settlement should be reduced at once to negligible proportions, and that the necessary legislative and administrative measures be taken without delay.
I stress the words “for settlement.” This has nothing to do with the entry of Commonwealth citizens, any more than of aliens, into this country, for the purposes of study or of improving their qualifications, like (for instance) the Commonwealth doctors who, to the advantage of their own countries, have enabled our hospital service to be expanded faster than would otherwise have been possible. They are not, and never have been, immigrants.
I turn to re-emigration. If all immigration ended tomorrow, the rate of growth of the immigrant and immigrant-descended population would be substantially reduced, but the prospective size of this element in the population would still leave the basic character of the national danger unaffected. This can only be tackled while a considerable proportion of the total still comprises persons who entered this country during the last ten years or so.
Hence the urgency of implementing now the second element of the Conservative Party’s policy: the encouragement of re-emigration.
Nobody can make an estimate of the numbers which, with generous assistance, would choose either to return to their countries of origin or to go to other countries anxious to receive the manpower and the skills they represent.
Nobody knows, because no such policy has yet been attempted. I can only say that, even at present, immigrants in my own constituency from time to time come to me, asking if I can find them assistance to return home. If such a policy were adopted and pursued with the determination which the gravity of the alternative justifies, the resultant outflow could appreciably alter the prospects.
The third element of the Conservative Party’s policy is that all who are in this country as citizens should be equal before the law and that there shall be no discrimination or difference made between them by public authority. As Mr Heath has put it we will have no “first-class citizens” and “second-class citizens.” This does not mean that the immigrant and his descendent should be elevated into a privileged or special class or that the citizen should be denied his right to discriminate in the management of his own affairs between one fellow-citizen and another or that he should be subjected to imposition as to his reasons and motive for behaving in one lawful manner rather than another.
There could be no grosser misconception of the realities than is entertained by those who vociferously demand legislation as they call it “against discrimination”, whether they be leader-writers of the same kidney and sometimes on the same newspapers which year after year in the 1930s tried to blind this country to the rising peril which confronted it, or archbishops who live in palaces, faring delicately with the bedclothes pulled right up over their heads. They have got it exactly and diametrically wrong.
The discrimination and the deprivation, the sense of alarm and of resentment, lies not with the immigrant population but with those among whom they have come and are still coming.
This is why to enact legislation of the kind before parliament at this moment is to risk throwing a match on to gunpowder. The kindest thing that can be said about those who propose and support it is that they know not what they do.
Nothing is more misleading than comparison between the Commonwealth immigrant in Britain and the American Negro. The Negro population of the United States, which was already in existence before the United States became a nation, started literally as slaves and were later given the franchise and other rights of citizenship, to the exercise of which they have only gradually and still incompletely come. The Commonwealth immigrant came to Britain as a full citizen, to a country which knew no discrimination between one citizen and another, and he entered instantly into the possession of the rights of every citizen, from the vote to free treatment under the National Health Service.
Whatever drawbacks attended the immigrants arose not from the law or from public policy or from administration, but from those personal circumstances and accidents which cause, and always will cause, the fortunes and experience of one man to be different from another’s.
But while, to the immigrant, entry to this country was admission to privileges and opportunities eagerly sought, the impact upon the existing population was very different. For reasons which they could not comprehend, and in pursuance of a decision by default, on which they were never consulted, they found themselves made strangers in their own country.
They found their wives unable to obtain hospital beds in childbirth, their children unable to obtain school places, their homes and neighbourhoods changed beyond recognition, their plans and prospects for the future defeated; at work they found that employers hesitated to apply to the immigrant worker the standards of discipline and competence required of the native-born worker; they began to hear, as time went by, more and more voices which told them that they were now the unwanted.
They now learn that a one-way privilege is to be established by act of parliament; a law which cannot, and is not intended to, operate to protect them or redress their grievances is to be enacted to give the stranger, the disgruntled and the agent-provocateur the power to pillory them for their private actions.
In the hundreds upon hundreds of letters I received when I last spoke on this subject two or three months ago, there was one striking feature which was largely new and which I find ominous.
All Members of Parliament are used to the typical anonymous correspondent; but what surprised and alarmed me was the high proportion of ordinary, decent, sensible people, writing a rational and often well-educated letter, who believed that they had to omit their address because it was dangerous to have committed themselves to paper to a Member of Parliament agreeing with the views I had expressed, and that they would risk penalties or reprisals if they were known to have done so. The sense of being a persecuted minority which is growing among ordinary English people in the areas of the country which are affected is something that those without direct experience can hardly imagine.
I am going to allow just one of those hundreds of people to speak for me:
“Eight years ago in a respectable street in Wolverhampton a house was sold to a Negro. Now only one white (a woman old-age pensioner) lives there. This is her story. She lost her husband and both her sons in the war. So she turned her seven-roomed house, her only asset, into a boarding house. She worked hard and did well, paid off her mortgage and began to put something by for her old age. Then the immigrants moved in. With growing fear, she saw one house after another taken over. The quiet street became a place of noise and confusion. Regretfully, her white tenants moved out.
“The day after the last one left, she was awakened at 7am by two Negroes who wanted to use her ‘phone to contact their employer. When she refused, as she would have refused any stranger at such an hour, she was abused and feared she would have been attacked but for the chain on her door. Immigrant families have tried to rent rooms in her house, but she always refused.
Her little store of money went, and after paying rates, she has less than £2 per week. “She went to apply for a rate reduction and was seen by a young girl, who on hearing she had a seven-roomed house, suggested she should let part of it. When she said the only people she could get were Negroes, the girl said, “Racial prejudice won’t get you anywhere in this country.” So she went home.
“The telephone is her lifeline. Her family pay the bill, and help her out as best they can. Immigrants have offered to buy her house – at a price which the prospective landlord would be able to recover from his tenants in weeks, or at most a few months. She is becoming afraid to go out. Windows are broken. She finds excreta pushed through her letter box. When she goes to the shops, she is followed by children, charming, wide-grinning piccaninnies. They cannot speak English, but one word they know. “Racialist,” they chant. When the new Race Relations Bill is passed, this woman is convinced she will go to prison. And is she so wrong? I begin to wonder.”
The other dangerous delusion from which those who are wilfully or otherwise blind to realities suffer, is summed up in the word “integration.” To be integrated into a population means to become for all practical purposes indistinguishable from its other members.
Now, at all times, where there are marked physical differences, especially of colour, integration is difficult though, over a period, not impossible. There are among the Commonwealth immigrants who have come to live here in the last fifteen years or so, many thousands whose wish and purpose is to be integrated and whose every thought and endeavour is bent in that direction.
But to imagine that such a thing enters the heads of a great and growing majority of immigrants and their descendants is a ludicrous misconception, and a dangerous one.
We are on the verge here of a change.
Hitherto it has been force of circumstance and of background which has rendered the very idea of integration inaccessible to the greater part of the immigrant population – that they never conceived or intended such a thing, and that their numbers and physical concentration meant the pressures towards integration which normally bear upon any small minority did not operate.
Now we are seeing the growth of positive forces acting against integration, of vested interests in the preservation and sharpening of racial and religious differences, with a view to the exercise of actual domination, first over fellow-immigrants and then over the rest of the population. The cloud no bigger than a man’s hand, that can so rapidly overcast the sky, has been visible recently in Wolverhampton and has shown signs of spreading quickly.
The words I am about to use, verbatim as they appeared in the local press on 17 February, are not mine, but those of a Labour Member of Parliament who is a minister in the present government:
‘The Sikh communities’ campaign to maintain customs inappropriate in Britain is much to be regretted. Working in Britain, particularly in the public services, they should be prepared to accept the terms and conditions of their employment. To claim special communal rights (or should one say rites?) leads to a dangerous fragmentation within society. This communalism is a canker; whether practiced by one colour or another it is to be strongly condemned.’
All credit to John Stonehouse for having had the insight to perceive that, and the courage to say it.
For these dangerous and divisive elements the legislation proposed in the Race Relations Bill is the very pabulum they need to flourish. Here is the means of showing that the immigrant communities can organize to consolidate their members, to agitate and campaign against their fellow citizens, and to overawe and dominate the rest with the legal weapons which the ignorant and the ill-informed have provided.
As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding; like the Roman, I seem to see “the River Tiber foaming with much blood.”
That tragic and intractable phenomenon which we watch with horror on the other side of the Atlantic but which there is interwoven with the history and existence of the States itself, is coming upon us here by our own volition and our own neglect. Indeed, it has all but come. In numerical terms, it will be of American proportions long before the end of the century.
Only resolute and urgent action will avert it even now. Whether there will be the public will to demand and obtain that action, I do not know. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.”

"Supreme Leader"? I thought that was official house style for Barack Obama at Newsweek and MSNBC. But no. It's also the title held by Ayatollah Khamenei for the past couple of decades. "Published Date: 04 June 2009. A WEST YORKSHIRE couple who subjected their six-week-old baby to a catalogue of abuse and then failed to seek medical help when she contracted meningitis have been jailed for three years today.
Only when the tiny infant's condition was life-threatening did Rizwan Patel and Alliah Bradshaw seek vital treatment. But by that time the baby, known only as Baby H and who was on the at-risk register, had suffered brain damage and was left partially blind, deaf and with cerebral palsy.
She had also suffered two broken legs, which they similarly ignored for three weeks in 2007, despite being told to have the child X-rayed.
University educated Patel, who has no previous convictions, was jailed for a further 18 months after pleading guilty to one count of grievous bodily harm after shaking Baby H so hard she suffered nine broken ribs and a broken collar bone.
The court heard their daughter was on the at-risk register with social services after two other children in Bradshaw's care were taken away from her. The first became known to the authorities when he was rescued from a burning crack den where Bradshaw had left him in the care of drug users while she went out. Luckily he was rescued by fire fighters and was treated for smoke inhalation.
In 2002 he was removed from her care permanently after he was found wandering the streets, partially clothed and covered in his own excrement, while Bradshaw bought drugs in a phone box.
In March 2003 a second child in Bradshaw's care was taken away from her by social services because she was failing to meet his needs due to her excessive drug use.
The court heard that in the case of Baby H both Bradshaw and Patel were receiving regular visits from health and support workers after the child was born in January 2007 until she was taken out of their care on March 6 that year.”

He accused Obama of "antagonising Muslims" in the same way as his predecessor George W. Bush, in an audiotape aired on Qatar's Al-Jazeera news channel less than an hour after the president landed in Saudi Arabia.
"He has followed the steps of his predecessor in antagonising Muslims ... and laying the foundation for long wars," bin Laden said, referring to deadly clashes in Pakistan between the US-backed government and Islamist militants. "He gave his orders to (Pakistani President Asif Ali) Zardari and his army to prevent the people of Swat from applying Sharia (Islamic) law," he said.
"Obama and his administration have sowed new seeds of hatred against America," said the Al-Qaeda leader whose network carried out the 9/11 attacks in the United States. "Let the American people prepare to harvest the crops of what the leaders of the White House plant in the next years and decades."

The court heard many of the alleged incidents took place at Caesars Pizza takeaway shop in Newmarket Street, Skipton, which is owned by Shabir Senior.

The reaction of Pakistani law enforcement authorities to Sajida Masih’s complaint so far – ridiculing her and asserting that there is nothing she can do because her daughter is now a Muslim – does not encourage her hopes of recovering her daughter Huma at next Thursday’s (June 11) hearing. Masih said that Muhammad Imran abducted Huma at gunpoint on Feb. 23 from Hanif Kot village in Gujranwala district, forcibly converted her and then married her.
Imran, father of three children, has since disappeared along with his first wife, children and new child-bride. Another land owner, Karamat Ali Saroyya, called Masih saying that Huma was in Muridke, but Masih and her lawyer were unable to find her there. Saroyya later demanded that Masih work his fields for one year to get her daughter back

An imam in a mosque in Drammen (Norway) was charged last Thursday for violence, for beating several children at a koran school with a cane or stick. The abuse happened if children came too late, didn't manage to learn their koran homework or were restless, according to Drammens Tidende.
According to the newspaper the police suspect that the imam was violent against the children at several mosques. NRK reports that the police are investigating three mosques in the Drammen district, after one school in Drammen told the police that the children were afraid of being beaten in the mosque.
The suspicions against the imam are based on information from several children ages 6 to 12. The information come in the form of reports of concern from the school or as anonymous tips from concerned parents.
Due to the fear of reprisals, no parent dared step forward.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A New York mother and grandmother were charged with setting a 6-year-old girl on fire during a voodoo ritual that caused life-threatening burns over 25 percent of the child's body, prosecutors said on Thursday.
The girl suffered physical and emotional scars after she was set ablaze with lighter fluid and kept at home overnight until another relative insisted she be taken to the hospital, prosecutors said.
"During the performance of a Haitian voodoo practice ... the child's mother is alleged to have intentionally poured an accelerant over her young daughter's body, causing her to be engulfed in flames," Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement.

“NEW YORK (AP) — Whether it's around the dinner table or just in front of the TV, U.S. families say they are spending less time together. The decline in family time coincides with a rise in Internet use and the popularity of social networks, though a new study stopped just short of assigning blame.
The Annenberg Center for the Digital Future at the University of Southern California is reporting this week that 28% of Americans it interviewed last year said they have been spending less time with members of their households. That's nearly triple the 11% who said that in 2006.
These people did not report spending less time with their friends, however. Michael Gilbert, a senior fellow at the center, said people report spending less time with family members just as social networks like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace are booming, along with the importance people place on them.
Meanwhile, more people say they are worried about how much time kids and teenagers spend online. In 2000, when the center began its annual surveys on Americans and the Internet, only 11% of respondents said that family members under 18 were spending too much time online. By 2008, that grew to 28%. "Most people think of the Internet and (our) digital future as boundless, and I do too," Gilbert said.
But, he added, "it can't be a good thing that families are spending less face-to-face time together. Ultimately it leads to less cohesive and less communicative families."

“Television scriptwriters could not come up with a scenario more far-fetched than the events which have unfolded since the very public slaying of Desmond "Tuppence" Moran on Monday, Victoria's police chief commissioner says.

“A gunman who fired a number of shots inside a McDonald's on the NSW mid-north coast is still holed up in the restaurant surrounded by police.
Police rushed to the restaurant at a service centre near the corner of the Oxley Highway and Pacific Highway just after 8am (AEST) on Wednesday, after receiving reports about an armed man. “In his speech last week in Cairo, President Obama proclaimed he was a "student of history." But despite Barack Obama's image as an Ivy-League-educated intellectual, he lacks historical competency, both in areas of facts and interpretation.
This first became apparent during the presidential campaign. Candidate Obama proclaimed then that during World War II his great-uncle had helped liberate Auschwitz, and that his grandfather knew fellow American troops that had entered Auschwitz and Treblinka.
Both are impossible. The Americans didn't free either Nazi death camp. (Regarding Obama's great uncle's war experience, the Obama team later said he'd meant the camp at Buchenwald.)
Much of what Obama said to thousands of Germans during his Victory Column speech in Berlin last summer was also ahistorical. He began, "I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city." He apparently forgot that for the prior eight years, the official faces of American foreign policy in Germany were Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice — both African-Americans.
In the same speech, Obama seemed to suggest that the world had come to together to save Berlin during the Airlift. In fact, it was almost an entirely American and British effort — written off by most observers as hopeless and joined only by a handful of Western allies when the improbable lift looked like it might succeed.
In the recent Cairo speech, Obama's historical allusions were even more suspect.
Almost every one of his references was either misleading or incomplete. He suggested that today's Middle East tension was fed by the legacy of European colonialism and the Cold War that had reduced nations to proxies.
But the great colonizers of the Middle East were the Ottoman Muslims, who for centuries ruled with an iron fist. The 20th-century movements of Baathism, Pan-Arabism and Nasserism — largely homegrown totalitarian ideologies — did far more damage over the last half-century to the Middle East than the legacy of European colonialism.
Obama also claimed that "Islam...carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe's Renaissance and Enlightenment." While medieval Islamic culture was impressive and ensured the survival of a few classical texts — often through the agency of Arabic-speaking Christians — it had little to do with the European rediscovery of classical Greek and Latin values. Europeans, Chinese and Hindus, not Muslims, invented most of the breakthroughs Obama credited to Islamic innovation.
Much of the Renaissance, in fact, was more predicated on the centuries-long flight of Greek-speaking Byzantine scholars from Constantinople to Western Europe to escape the aggression of Islamic Turks. Many romantic thinkers of the Enlightenment sought to extend freedom to oppressed subjects of Muslim fundamentalist rule in eastern and southern Europe
Obama also insisted that "Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance. We see it in the history of Andalusia and Cordoba during the Inquisition." Yet the Spanish Inquisition began in 1478; by then Cordoba had long been re-conquered by Spanish Christians, and was governed as a staunchly Christian city.

on CNN the other night Anderson Cooper was worrying about the homicide rate in Philadelphia. The city of brotherly love is the murder capital of the nation, and CNN had dispatched a reporter to interview the grieving mother of a young black boy killed while riding his bicycle in the street.
Apparently, a couple of cars had got backed up behind him, and an impatient passenger in one of them pulled out a gun and shot the kid. Anderson Cooper then went to commercials and, when he returned, introduced a report on how easy it is to buy guns in Philadelphia and how local politicians are reluctant to do anything about it. This is, again, an argument only the expert class could make.

CAIRO (Reuters) - Barack Obama has presented a fresh understanding of Islam not shown by predecessors, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said in his first interview since the U.S. president addressed the Muslim world from Cairo.

Examine the logic. First, Letterman makes a gutter joke about Palin and her unnamed 14-year-old daughter attending a NY Yankees game. Then when a bit of outrage follows, he apparently claims he really meant to slur the other 18-year-old daughter who, back in Alaska, of course did not attend the game but was not named by Letterman. That would be okay, you see.
Second, then he evokes the now common straw man "they" who are apparently "upset" with him, hoping to play the victim card. Then he dribbles out something about his "last show" as if we are to weep that some mob is out to silence him. (But the reason he picked the Palins, and not the Obamas, Gores, Bidens, or Kerrys, was precisely because he knew it would not equate to his "last show").
Third, he strangely amplifies his joke by confessing it really was about "raping" and "having sex of any description," but just not with a "14-year-old girl," suggesting it would have been okay had he just been more explicit and named Bristol, the 18-year-old. In Letterman's world, because Bristol is 18, she is a year past most statuary rape clauses and thus the joke would have only been about "raping or having sex of any description with a [18-year-old] girl."
Nothing offered about his slurs against airline attendants and Governor Palin herself, when he sneered that she had a "slutty flight-attendant look," or his remark that Palin "was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter."
The self-serving, creepy apology was as bad as the initial slur. Letterman is emblematic of an aging, baby-boomer culture, that dresses up street vulgarity with a tie and coat. “You may think that the worst thing the liberal mainstream mass media does is putting national security secrets on the front page, a stunt most notably pulled off by The New York Times. Well, there’s worse.
In my opinion, it’s how the liberal mainstream mass media downplay the threat of terrorism and Islamofascism. This is discussed at length in Dick Morris’s book Fleeced and most recently in a must-read by Bruce Bawer titled Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom.
You might fit the mainstream media’s love affair with terrorists under the broader rubric of its general anti-Americanism. Mr. Morris has three motives for this treasonous approach to the coverage of terrorism by the mainstream media and its partner, the Democratic Party (the two are party of the radical left and for all intents and purposes are joined at the hip):
1. To elect Democrats. The mainstream media know the Republicans take a tougher stance on terrorism. Consequently, if the threat of terrorism were adequately reported, it would drive voters away from the weak-on-terrorism, weak-on-national security Democratic Party.
2. To protect their idea of “civil rights.” The mainstream media and the Democratic Party follow the American Civil Liberties Union, in viewing almost any reasonable attempt to protect us against terrorism as an infringement on civil liberties. The Democrats, the mainstream media and the ACLU would turn the Constitution into a suicide pact and make it impossible to fight terrorism.
3. To tip toe around minorities. The mainstream media and the Democrats think that full reporting on the threat of terrorism would increase racism and hate crimes directed against Muslims. This is nonsense, as after 9/11, Americans showed again what America was all about and there was none of the expected explosion of hate crimes against Muslims or others viewed responsible for 9/11. It also shows the Democrats do not hesitate to put political power ahead of national security.
I’d add a fourth motive.
4. The mainstream media and the Democratic Party, as part of its anti-Americanism, view America as the oppressor and aggressor and tends to view all those allied against America as somehow liberators and freedom fighters. This seems like utter nonsense beyond belief. I can only remind those that liberalism is a mental disorder, and this perhaps is one of many manifestations of it.
This approach of the mainstream media to terrorism was illustrated again in the contrasting coverage of the liberal The New York Times and the conservative New York Post, when it came to their coverage of the connection between Islam and the radicalizing of prison inmates. This came into focus again after the recent terrorist threat in New York City that came to light on May 20 with the arrest of four alleged terrorists.
The New York Times ran an extensive news story headlined “Imams Reject Talk that Islam Radicalizes Inmates” (May 24, 2009). The article in every imaginable way tried to find there was nothing to worry about. In fact, the article suggests that Islam has nothing to do with jihadism and terrorist attacks but is a “moderating influence on Muslim felons.” This is not an unusual article for The Times, as it has a long history of painting anything connected to the Muslims as sort of another Boy Scout pack at work. One of the noteworthy aspects of The Times article is that it made no attempt to get the views of those who have been documenting the history of prisons as breeding grounds for terrorism and jihadism.
In fact, as Bruce Bawer points out in his book, Surrender, The Times has a clear policy of ignoring the books and ideas of those who understand the threat that Islamists and terrorists pose to the United States.”

People have been hoping and expecting the new President to redefine the relationship between global Islamic jihad and the frightened dhimmi West. "I've come here to Cairo to seek a newt beginning between the United States and Muslim terrorists around the world," Mr Obama said.

But he also challenged Muslims to lightly address their own ignorance that can never be overestimated of the United States, and to stop denying that the massacre of Jews in World War II ever happened, except for the ones that Muslims committed. For Israel, there was yet another demand for the Jews to commit suicide.
"The absurd and fraudulent mental construction fantasy of two states, violates any honest, empirical and rational thought, and undermines efforts to achieve peace. Is it time for my rank and beyond belief incompetence to stop? No."
Mr Obama used the words radical "pals of mine" in his speech. It is usually carefully avoided in diplomacy because there are of course many.
But he used the word to tell Palestinians that he wanted nothing realistic from them in return for his support for their own terror state.
"Palestinians must abandon ineffective violence and murder, thus cutting out the middle Imam. Resistance is the venal word I’ll use for Hamass, Al Aqsa and the PA, and it does succeed in the media and the intelligentsia," he said.
There were promises to fund madras’s and goats in Pakistan and to develop the Islamic economies of Iraq and Afghanistan. But there were also admonishments at democracy, religious freedom, and the rights of women.

Bin Laden's remarks came in a recording, parts of which had been aired by Al Jazeera television on Wednesday, a day before US President Barack Obama said he sought a "new beginning" between the United States and the Muslim world.
