Christopher Hitchens on Saddam Hussein's Republic of Fear.

Christopher Hitchens: "I used to find in arguments I had about Iraq, that I knew right away when somebody didn't know what they were talking about, and the dead give-away would be when they would say "allright, I agree. Saddam Hussein is a bad guy". And I'd say that means you don't know.

You don't know anything about him if that's what you think. You don't know what it would be like sitting at home wondering where your daughter was, and finding out cos' the police came 'round and banging on the door, handed you a video while they stood there, of her being raped by her colleages, just to show you who was boss.."

Saddam Hussein was an authentic Muslim dictator and thus a typical Islamic psychopath in charge of life and death, though mostly the latter. Hussein was also an authentic Baathist Socialist Party psychopath because, gentle reader, totalitarian state Islamofascism and totalitarian state socialism are, though not surprisingly to me, a most excellent, useful and simpatico fit.

'Editorial Reviews: "Originally written under the pseudonym Samir al-Khalil and published before the Gulf War, Republic of Fear describes the rise of Saddam Hussein and the Arab Ba'th Socialist party. The author, an Iraqi expatriate now living in the United States, offers this updated edition under his real name, Kanan Makiya. A new introduction discusses events following the invasion of Kuwait ("the chamber of horrors that is Saddam Hussein's Iraq has grown into something that not even the most morbid imagination could have dreamed up").

The book is not merely a chronicle of recent Iraqi politics, but a discussion of why the country has evolved into "a Kafkaesque world ... one ruled and held together by fear." Essential reading for anybody who wants to understand modern Iraq." John J. Miller.

Via Amazon a Republic Of Fear review:
"Saddam Hussein was a member of the Iraqi Baath party. In his brilliant analysis of Saddams Iraq the author Kanan Makiya illustrates how the Baathist regime managed to hold the Iraqi population in its grip for so long.

Children from 5 and up where indoctrinated with Baathist ideology in the old Iraq. The children where encouraged to spy and tell on their parents if they heard them backtalking the party. During Baath party rule the Iraqi litteracy rate was raised as the output of state propaganda soared. Women where brought into the workplace and the country was developed. Meanwhile, personal freedoms sank-all in the name of progress. Similar developments can be seen in the revolutionary governments of Cuba, China, Vietnam and Algeria. Development took the place of freedom.

Baathist Iraq built itself as a movement and in power on Stalinist norms. It contained both the crude violence and primitive isolationist outlook on one hand while at the same time pushing forward extensive mass education and a modern planned economy. Just like Stalin, the Baath party used the countries "backwardness" as an excuse to resort to extreme measures of violence. And just like Stalin, the Baath party managed to create a more powerfull nation, while at the same time unleashing a regime of terror.

It became necessary for Iraqi civilians to wear a "mask". One could never speak openly about the fear, violence and conformity in the society without risking being punished. So the Iraqi citizen would become like "a snail sealed in a shell". The personality becomes liquidated in the oppressor group and its values. Saddams image was everywhere. On a typical radio broadcast his name was mentioned thirty to fifty times an hour. Saddams images appeard on TV several hours a day. Children had to memorize verses in his honor.

The USSR and East Germany imported "the methods, investments and structures needed for the effective torturing institutions" in Iraq. The Iraqi Baathist state systematically invaded its citizens privacy, denied their individuality and generated fear. Torture was the "apex of that system". Things like public hangings, corpse displays, rape rooms, executions, confession rituals and torture where all used to breed fear in the Iraqi population.

The main idea of Baath government was to uproot individuals from their traditional groups and tribes, thereby destructing the social reality. This would then be replaced by a "new state-centralized network of relationships. The undifferentiated Leviathan like mass that emerged was in principle either hostile to or sealed off from other "partial" non-Baathist sense of belonging." The Baathist view of the world was split up into extremes. On one side the infinitely good, [socialism and pan-Arabism] and on the other side the infinitely bad (Zionism, imperialism and foreign agents).

Baathism rose to power out of the Pan-Arabist movement. According to the author, this was a movement intent on getting rid of western colonialism and zionism. It had its roots in Syria in reaction to French rule and it had many of its first members in the officers corps there. They were also opposed to communism. They thought that the Syrian communist party had too strong connections to France and that it was tainted by Russian thinking which could hurt Arabic traditionalism. In their first programmatic statement they proclaimed: "We represent the Arab spirit against materialist communism". The Baath saw their mission being to exorcise the demons of imperialist communism from a degenerate colonized society. They appealed primarily to those who felt threatend by the rootlessness that came about due to modernization, population growth and urbanization.

To the old Baath founder, Aflaq, "Communism is western, and alien to everything Arab", and was the culmination of the humanistic tradition from Europe. When the Iraqi monarchy was overthrown in 1958 the communists had achieved a significant degree of power within the country. The Iraq leader at that point became Abd al-Karim Qasim, a nationalist Iraqi military officer, who claimed power by overthrowing the monarchy in a coup détat. He supported the Communists in Iraq and was inturn overthrown by a Baathist coup in 1963. The Baath party purged the communist at this point. Hunting them down in the streets, killing as many as they could find.

Qasim was himself executed. His corpse was tied to a chair and filmed, where in the final sequence a soldier spits in the corpses face. This material was shown nightly on Iraqi televsion (this has similarities to the videos circulating on the internet of Saddam Husseins execution). In 1969 the first purges began against the Jewish population of Iraq. Saying that they where spies and imperialists.

Gruesome spectacles were put on where the population was brought out to witness executions. This would later be reenacted in 1979. But then it wasn't a question of a small group of political outcasts. In 1979 the top leaders of the Baath party itself were purged when Saddam Hussein took over power in Iraq."

Good old Hitch. When the old sophist does get things right as he has about "the filth" of the Koran and the nihilist, Marxist Critical Theory dead-ends of the suicidal, values-free and stupid left, he hits a fucking home run...as he does here.

"The Horrors of a Camp Called Omarska by Mark Danner. [The crushingly hideous crimes of the Serbs in the Balkans. Yep, I have a post on the hideous crimes of the Balkan Muslims too. I can barely take studying this subject. You figure it out..]

One survivor interviewed by United Nations investigators estimated that
“on many occasions, twenty to forty prisoners were killed at night by ‘knife, hammer, and burning.’ He stated that he had witnessed the killing of one prisoner by seven guards who poured petrol on him, set him on fire, and struck him upon the head with a hammer.”
All prisoners were beaten, but according to the UN investigators, guards in all the camps meted out especially savage treatment “to intellectuals, politicians, police, and the wealthy.”[6] When four guards summoned the president of the local Croatian Democratic Union, Silvije Saric, along with Professor Puskar from nearby Prijedor, for “interrogation,” the female prisoner testified,

I heard beating and yelling…. At times it sounded as if wood were being shattered, but those were bones that were being broken.

...When they opened the door …, they started yelling at us, “Ustasa slut, see what we do to them!” ...I saw two piles of blood and flesh in the corner. The two men were so horribly beaten that they no longer had the form of human beings.[7]

Apart from obvious differences in scale and ambition, it is the Serbs’ reliance on this laborious kind of murder that most strikingly distinguishes the workings of their camps from those of the German death factories. At many of the latter, healthy arrivals would work as slaves until they were reduced to being Muselm Anner; death came when camp bureaucrats judged them no longer fit to provide any useful service to the Reich. The gas chambers-routinized, intentionally impersonal means of killing-had evolved partly out of a concern for the effect that committing mass murder would have on troops, even on men specially trained to do it. As Raul Hilberg observed,

The Germans employed the phrase Seelenbelastung (“burdening of the soul”) with reference to machine-gun fire…directed at men, women, and children in prepared ditches. After all, the men that were firing these weapons were themselves fathers. How could they do this day after day? It was then that the technicians developed a gas van designed to lessen the suffering of the perpetrator.[8]

And even within the camps themselves, SS officers worried that violence and sadism would demoralize and corrupt their elite troops. “The SS leaders,” Wolfgang Sofsky writes,
were indifferent to the suffering of the victims, but not to the morale of their men. Their attention was aroused…by the sadistic excesses of individual tormenters. As a countermeasure, camp brothels were set up, and the task of punishment was delegated to specially selected prisoners. The leadership also transferred certain thugs whose behavior had become intolerable. [Emphasis added.][9]

At Omarska such men would have been cherished; the out-and-out passion with which a guard administered beatings and devised tortures could greatly bolster his prestige. Acts of flamboyant violence, publicly performed, made of some men celebrities of sadism. In his memoir The Tenth Circle of Hell, Rezak Hukanovic-a Muslim who was a journalist in Prijedor before he was taken to Omarska-describes how guards responded when a prisoner rejected the order to strip and stood immobile amid the cowering naked inmates:

The guard…fired several shots in the air. The man stood stubbornly in place without making the slightest movement. While bluish smoke still rose from the rifle barrel, the guard struck the clothed man in the middle of the head with the rifle butt, once and then again, until the man fell. Then the guard…moved his hand to his belt. A knife flashed in his hand, a long army knife.

He bent down, grabbing hold of the poor guy’s hair…. Another guard joined in, continuously cursing. He, too, had a flashing knife in his hand…. The guards [used] them to tear away the man’s clothes. After only a few seconds, they stood up, their own clothes covered with blood….
...The poor man stood up a little, or rather tried to, letting out excruciating screams. He was covered with blood. One guard took a water hose from a nearby hydrant and directed a strong jet at [him]. A mixture of blood and water flowed down his…gaunt, naked body as he bent down repeatedly, like a wounded Cyclops…; his cries were of someone driven to insanity by pain. And then Djemo and everyone else saw clearly what had happened: the guards had cut off the man’s sexual organ and half of his behind.

Hukanovic’s memoir (in which he writes about himself in the third person as Djemo) and the testimony of other former prisoners overflow with such horror. Reading them, one feels enervated, and also bewildered: What accounts for such unquenchable blood-lust? This is a large subject, to which I shall return; but part of the answer may have to do with the elaborate ideology that stands behind Serb objectives in the war. In order to achieve a “Greater Serbia,” which will at last bring together all Serbs in one land, they feel they must “cleanse” what is “their” land of outsiders. Founding-or rather reestablishing-”Greater Serbia” is critical not only because it satisfies an ancient historical claim but because Serbs must protect themselves from the “genocide” others even now are planning for them.

In this thinking, such genocide has already begun-in Croatia, in Kosovo, in Bosnia itself: anywhere Serbs live but lack political dominance. As many writers, including Michael Sells and, especially, Tim Judah, point out, such ideas of vulnerability and betrayal can be traced far back in Serbia’s past, and President Slobodan Milosevic, with his control of state radio and television, exploited them brilliantly, building popular hatred by instilling in Serbs a visceral fear and paranoia.

Administering a beating is a deeply personal affirmation of power: with your own hands you seize your enemy-supposedly a mortally threatening enemy, now rendered passive and powerless-and slowly, methodically reduce him from human to nonhuman. Each night at Omarska and other camps guards called prisoners out by name and enacted this atrocity. Some of their enemies they beat to death, dumping their corpses on the tarmac for the forklift driver to find the next morning. Others they beat until the victim still barely clung to life; if he did not die, the guards would wait a week or so and beat him again.

For the Serbs it was a repeated exercise in triumph, in satisfying and vanquishing an accumulated paranoia. As Hukanovic makes clear in his account of the first time his name was called out, this torture is exceedingly, undeniably intimate-not simply because force is administered by hand but also because it comes very often from someone you know:

“In front of me,” the [bearded, red-faced] guard ordered, pointing to the White House…. He ranted and raved, cursing and occasionally pounding Djemo on the back with his truncheon….

...The next second, something heavy was let loose from above, from the sky, and knocked Djemo over the head. He fell.

...Half conscious, sensing that he had to fight to survive, he wiped the blood from his eyes and forehead and raised his head. He saw four creatures, completely drunk, like a pack of starving wolves, with clubs in their hands and unadorned hatred in their eyes. Among them was the frenzied leader, Zoran Zigic, the infamous Ziga…. He was said to have killed over two hundred people, including many children, in the “cleansing” operations around Prijedor…. Scrawny and long-legged, with a big black scar on his face, Ziga seemed like an ancient devil come to visit a time as cruel as his own….

“Now then, let me show you how Ziga does it,” he said, ordering Djemo to kneel down in the corner by the radiator, “on all fours, just like a dog.” The maniac grinned. Djemo knelt down and leaned forward on his hands, feeling humiliated and as helpless as a newborn….

Ziga began hitting Hukanovic on his back and head with a club that had a metal ball on the end. Hukanovic curled up trying to protect his head. Zigic kept hitting him, steadily, methodically, cursing all the while.

The drops of blood on the tiles under Djemo’s head [became] denser and denser until they formed a thick, dark red puddle. Ziga kept at it; he stopped only every now and then…to fan himself, waving his shirt tail in front of his contorted face.
At some point a man in fatigues appeared…. It was Saponja, a member of the famous Bosna-montaza soccer club from Prijedor; Djemo had once known him quite well…. “Well, well, my old pal Djemo. While I was fighting…, you were pouring down the cold ones in Prijedor.” He kicked Djemo right in the face with his combat boot. Then he kicked him again in the chest, so badly that Djemo felt like his ribs had been shattered…Ziga laughed like a maniac…and started hitting Djemo again with his weird club….

Djemo received another, even stronger kick to the face. He clutched himself in pain, bent a little to one side, and collapsed, his head sinking into the now-sizable pool of blood beneath him. Ziga grabbed him by the hair…and looked into Djemo’s completely disfigured face: “Get up, you scum….”

Then Ziga and the other guards forced Djemo to smear his bloody face in a filthy puddle of water.

...”The boys have been eating strawberries and got themselves a little red,” said Ziga, laughing like a madman…. Another prisoner, Slavko Ecimovic,...was kneeling, all curled up, by the radiator. When he lifted his head, where his face should have been was nothing but the bloody, spongy tissue under the skin that had just been ripped off.

Instead of eyes, two hollow sockets were filled with black, coagulated blood.
“You’ll all end up like this, you and your families,” Ziga said. “We killed his father and mother. And his wife. We’ll get his kids. And yours, we’ll kill you all.”
And with a wide swing of his leg, he kicked Djemo right in the face….

In early April 1992, little more than a week after officers of the newly christened Bosnian Serb Army launched their campaign of limited conquest in Bosnia, officials in Washington began receiving reports of atrocities, among them mass executions, beatings, mutilations, and rape. Jon Western, at the State Department, then working on human rights in Bosnia, recalls that

many of these atrocities looked an awful lot like what we had heard and read about during World War II-the Balkans historically produce a lot of disinformation-and we were trained to look at them critically and decipher what was real. But as reports continued to come in…, it became apparent that they weren’t just propaganda.

In fact, we were getting reports from a number of sources: eyewitnesses who had been incarcerated in concentration camps begin filtering out in summer 1992 and began giving accounts of atrocities that we could cross-reference with those from other eyewitnesses….[10]

As the Serbs prosecuted their “lightning campaign”-the Bosnian Serb Army of eighty thousand men, which had come fully equipped from the Yugoslav National Army, conquered 60 percent of Bosnian territory in scarcely six weeks-State Department officials compiled testimony of increasingly shocking and gruesome atrocities. Jon Western recalls that children were “systematically raped”:
There was one account that affected me: a young girl was raped repeatedly by Serb paramilitary units. Her parents were restrained behind a fence and she was raped repeatedly and they left her in a pool of blood and over the course of a couple of days she finally died, and her parents were not able to tend to her; they were restrained behind a fence. When we first heard this story, it seemed very hard to believe but we heard it from a number of eyewitnesses …and it became apparent there was validity to it.

Another day, another avalanche of cultural and security suicide dhimmitude Obama style.

Lebanese-born Muslim whistleblower, Kamal Saleem, reveals the genuine threat that political Islamism presents to free peoples. Wah-hey! Obama's newt er, new beginning with wonderful New Islam!

“CAIRO (AFP) - US President Barack Obama Thursday vowed to forge a "new beginning" for Islam and America in a landmark speech to the world's Muslims, promising to purge years of "suspicion and discord." In what may be one of the defining moments of his presidency, Obama laid out a new blueprint for US Middle East policy, pledging to end mistrust, forge a state for Palestinians and defuse a nuclear showdown with Iran.

"So long as our relationship is defined by our differences, we will empower those who sow hatred rather than peace," said Obama, who was greeted with a standing ovation as he stepped alone up to the podium at Cairo University.

Obama drew applause as he sprinkled his text with allusion to the Koran and the Bible, and elements of his own upbringing as a boy in the world's most populous Islamic nation Indonesia with family members in Kenya followers of the Muslim faith."

Yippee and fabulous! Here's what Obamadronespeak actually means to jihadist Muslims...

"Headline News Sunday, May 31, 2009 Israel Today Staff.

‘Obama committed to ejecting Jews from Judea-Samaria,’ says Abbas. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday told reporters in Cairo that he is convinced that US President Barack Obama is firmly committed to finally ejecting the Jews from Judea and Samaria.

Abbas spoke to the press after briefing Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on his visit to the White House late last week, during which Obama apparently agreed with his guest that existing Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria must not even be allowed to experience “natural growth.”

“When the American administration talks about Israel's duty to stop the settlements - including natural growth - it is a very important step,” noted Abbas.

Following their meeting last Thursday, Obama said that he also told Abbas to make a bit more of an effort to halt what he described as isolated and sporadic anti-Jewish incitement in Palestinian schools, mosques and media. Documentation by Israeli and international watchdog groups shows that the incitement is far from isolated or sporadic."

The fab Caroline Glick quick to click on Obama the international hick:

“...a careful study of his statements shows that Obama was actually accepting the Arab view that Israel is a foreign — and therefore unjustifiable — intruder in the Arab world. Indeed, far from attacking their rejection of Israel, Obama legitimized it..."

Via jewishworldreview: Anne Bayefsky is a senior fellow of the Hudson Institute, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust and editor of www.EYEontheUN.org.

“In fact, Obama's Egyptian hosts would have been only too familiar with Arab anti-Semitism during World War II (and beyond). After all, Obama was speaking in the country that schooled and later welcomed back Grand Mufti Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini as a national hero. This was the man who spent the war years in Berlin as Hitler's guest facilitating the murder of Jews...

…the president made no emotive references to the "intolerable" "suffering" of Israeli victims of Arab terror "for more than 60 years." The word "terrorism" never left his lips. Far from bolstering the fight against terror and the anti-Semitism driving it, such maneuvers embolden more hate and violence against Israelis.

Instead, Obama sought Arab and Muslim approbation by drawing a moral equivalence between those who have rejected Israel from the outset (and still seek its outright destruction or a "right of return" intended to terminate a Jewish majority) and the Jews who have kept them at bay since May 14, 1948.

In his words: "There has been a stalemate: two peoples with legitimate aspirations, each with a painful history…. It's easy to point fingers — for Palestinians to point to the displacement brought about by Israel's founding, and for Israelis to point to the constant hostility and attacks." Calling the Israeli-Arab conflict a "stalemate" represents an abysmal failure to acknowledge historical reality.

The modern state of Israel emerged after an internationally approved partition plan of November 1947 that would have created two states, one Jewish and one Arab; this plan was accepted by Jews and rejected by Arabs. One people has always been prepared to live in peace, and the other has chosen war in 1948 and 1956 and 1967 and 1973 and 1982, and renewed terrorism after its every loss.
Bereft of the most basic understanding of Judaism and Jewish history, Obama claimed that "the aspiration for a Jewish homeland is rooted in a tragic history that cannot be denied," for "around the world, the Jewish people were persecuted for centuries."

A Jewish homeland in Israel is not rooted in tragedy or in centuries of persecution around the world. It is rooted in a wondrous, unbroken, and spiritual relationship to the land of Israel and to Jerusalem for thousands of years. Coupled with the president's stress on "European responsibility" for the Holocaust, his words reinforced the lethal belief that Israel is the creature of transplanted, alien Jews.

Obama's stunning offense to Israel and the Jewish people went farther. Israelis have come to occupy territory in response to Arab-initiated wars of intended annihilation, but Obama analogized Palestinian "daily humiliations...that come with occupation" to the "humiliation of segregation" of black slaves in America and the "moral authority" of "people from South Africa." His Arab audience understood that the president of the United States had just given a nod to the single most potent defamation of the Jewish state today — the allegation that Israel is a racist, apartheid state.

Three different times Obama defended the right of Muslim women to cover up their bodies. Never once did he mention the right of Muslim women to refuse to cover up their bodies — a right denied on pain of arrest and death by many of the very communities he was addressing. In the name of "freedom of religion" he chose to "welcome efforts like Saudi Arabian King Abdullah's interfaith dialogue." The Saudi Arabian government criminalizes the public practice of any religion but Islam. This manufactured human-rights fantasy has done a tremendous disservice to the oppressed across the Arab and Muslim world.”

Israel faces the constant pressure of terrorist attacks. Palestinian Muslim society is a total training ground for nihilist terrorism from childhood and on.

“This is our reality in Israel because the Palestinians terrorism and propaganda against us. They teaching their children to hate and kill innocent people since very young age, Palestinians kids dreaming to become sahids- to be a suicide bomber.

Since the year 2000 there have been over 20,000 shooting and terror attacks against innocent Israeli civilians. Over 7,520 Israelis were injured. Over 1491 murdered in terror attacks.Bus stations, coffee places, restaurants, shops, crowded streets, malls, dance clubs, homes, schools. For Palestinian terrorists there is no red line. They targeted every Israeli human being regardless of age, race or religion.

Despite the pain and sorrow Israel still strives for peace. Despite the horror, our children still dream of peace."

Via hotair the professionally stupid Tom Brokaw babbles in incompetent, lazy and fatuous moral equivalence about the Jewish people.

Hitchens on Obama and Gitmo. Thw West is so PC, it allows five star hotel Gitmo to be an autonomous madrassah! No really.

“I suppose you could ask to abstain, but, in such a case, I wouldn't much fancy your chances. The officers in charge were so pleased by this ability to show off their extreme broad-mindedness in respect of Islam that they looked almost hurt when I asked how they justified the use of taxpayers' money to create an institution dedicated to the fervent practice of the most extreme version of just one religion. To the huge list of reasons to close down Guantanamo, add this: It's a state-sponsored madrasah.”

Banning headscarves etc, is very, very good. And banning the people who want Sharia and political project of Islam is even better.

The self-loathing narcissist's of the leftard liberal MSM say Obama is “above America” and “like God.” No really. I thought you had to be at least a good guitar player for that.

Obama is ‘we are above that now.’ We’re not just parochial, we’re not just chauvinistic, we’re not just provincial. We stand for something – I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God. He’s-

Via jpost:

“In short, Obama's "straight talk" to the Arab world, which began with his disingenuous claim that like America, Islam is committed to "justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings," was consciously and fundamentally fraudulent. And this fraud was advanced to facilitate his goal of placing the Islamic world on equal moral footing with the free world.

In a like manner, Obama's tough "truths" about Israel were marked by factual and moral dishonesty in the service of political ends.”

The Bulletin talks plainly about the "joined at the hip" twins of our mutual suicide, Obama's narcissism and the MSM's own habitual, bankrupt and obsessive OBAMALOVE!

“You may think that the worst thing the liberal mainstream mass media does is putting national security secrets on the front page, a stunt most notably pulled off by The New York Times. Well, there’s worse.

In my opinion, it’s how the liberal mainstream mass media downplay the threat of terrorism and Islamofascism. This is discussed at length in Dick Morris’s book Fleeced and most recently in a must-read by Bruce Bawer titled Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom.

You might fit the mainstream media’s love affair with terrorists under the broader rubric of its general anti-Americanism. In any event, it is a national security threat of the first order, as it lulls the American people into a false sense of security when it comes to the terrorist threat and gives aid and comfort to the terrorists.
The mainstream media sanitizing, humanizing, euphemizing, rationalizing, legitimizing and otherwise perfuming and downplaying terrorism is even more dangerous than its betrayal of national security secrets.

It betrays national security secrets only on rare occasion, but everyday it is covering up the terrorist threat. Mr. Morris writes, “Ever since Sept. 11, 2001, the liberal mainstream media have been dedicated to assuaging our worries about terrorism and minimizing — and even deriding our fears.”

Mr. Morris has three motives for this treasonous approach to the coverage of terrorism by the mainstream media and its partner, the Democratic Party (the two are party of the radical left and for all intents and purposes are joined at the hip):

1. To elect Democrats. The mainstream media know the Republicans take a tougher stance on terrorism. Consequently, if the threat of terrorism were adequately reported, it would drive voters away from the weak-on-terrorism, weak-on-national security Democratic Party.

2. To protect their idea of “civil rights.” The mainstream media and the Democratic Party follow the American Civil Liberties Union, in viewing almost any reasonable attempt to protect us against terrorism as an infringement on civil liberties. The Democrats, the mainstream media and the ACLU would turn the Constitution into a suicide pact and make it impossible to fight terrorism.

3. To tip toe around minorities. The mainstream media and the Democrats think that full reporting on the threat of terrorism would increase racism and hate crimes directed against Muslims. This is nonsense, as after 9/11, Americans showed again what America was all about and there was none of the expected explosion of hate crimes against Muslims or others viewed responsible for 9/11. It also shows the Democrats do not hesitate to put political power ahead of national security.

I’d add a fourth motive.

4. The mainstream media and the Democratic Party, as part of its anti-Americanism, view America as the oppressor and aggressor and tends to view all those allied against America as somehow liberators and freedom fighters. This seems like utter nonsense beyond belief. I can only remind those that liberalism is a mental disorder, and this perhaps is one of many manifestations of it.

This approach of the mainstream media to terrorism was illustrated again in the contrasting coverage of the liberal The New York Times and the conservative New York Post, when it came to their coverage of the connection between Islam and the radicalizing of prison inmates. This came into focus again after the recent terrorist threat in New York City that came to light on May 20 with the arrest of four alleged terrorists.
The New York Times ran an extensive news story headlined “Imams Reject Talk that Islam Radicalizes Inmates” (May 24, 2009). The article in every imaginable way tried to find there was nothing to worry about. In fact, the article suggests that Islam has nothing to do with jihadism and terrorist attacks but is a “moderating influence on Muslim felons.” This is not an unusual article for The Times, as it has a long history of painting anything connected to the Muslims as sort of another Boy Scout pack at work. One of the noteworthy aspects of The Times article is that it made no attempt to get the views of those who have been documenting the history of prisons as breeding grounds for terrorism and jihadism.

In fact, as Bruce Bawer points out in his book, Surrender, The Times has a clear policy of ignoring the books and ideas of those who understand the threat that Islamists and terrorists pose to the United States.”

Colonel Neville: Even the moral vacuum of addictive personalities at HuffPo are apparently perturbed at Obama’s Egypt joke. Ah, buyers/lovers remorse and only five months in...What a drag, man. Bummer.

“I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal, and I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice. That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls, and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams."

Is that a joke?

With women being stoned, raped, abused, battered, mutilated, and slaughtered on a daily basis across the globe, violence that is so often perpetrated in the name of religion, the most our president can speak about is protecting their right to wear the hijab?”

Now here’s the thing. It was P.J O’Rourke and his columns and fabulous books from Eat the Rich, All the Trouble in the World, Give War a Chance, and everything else he has ever done, that got me into the true freedom of conservative principals via his empirical, satirical, deflating, ironic and profoundly moral humour.

And that’s not the phony yuks of the unread PC limits of the average stand-up comedian, too often based on acceptable mass drone paradigms of bullshit. P.J O'Rourke deals largely in the actually shocking and entirely laughable facts. There's nothing funnier than the juxtaposition of the misery of Utopian leftard dreams of existence and the joy of proven capitalist democratic bounty. That's the one without the socialist government theft by interference and parasitism.

The only er, "flaw" in capitalism is that unproductive fakes won't leave it alone.

To paraphrase P.J O'Rourke: Ferrari, Hollywood style swimming pools in the homes of working-class people, the music of Marvin Gaye and modern dentistry alone, prove the superiority of the free West.

Yep, facts exist whether we know of them or not. The same with humour.

P.J O’Rourke’s massive take down of Obama stem cell logical fallacy.

P.J is one of the natural wonders of the world. An enormous talent who slices and dices the moral vanity fantasy’s of the left liberal and radical twerp. Or as O’Rourke has called them “the return of son of the son of sixties rabble”.

The caveat is that P.J ain’t always such an obvious online presence. Especially in far away and generally dull Australia. And sometimes the Peej is a little laid back around many an elite moonbats, but then he’s a nice guy and he’s done enough already. And what do I know?

In fact all my own problems come down to not becoming a conservative soon enough! No, really.

This brings me to Mark Steyn who is an affable guy, my favourite conservative, [after me] invariably deals with fools with a wonderfully effective and wicked economy. And this is not just a shabby ploy to be reader of the day again, [though what a great idea?!] but because if it wasn’t for P.J O'Rourke but especially regular addictive Steyn boosts, I for one would feel a little more like Chuck, as he’s making his pre-big sleep through space speech in Planet Of The Apes:

“One more thing, if anybody is listening, that is. Nothing scientific, it’s purely personal. But seen from out here, everything seems different.

Time bends. Space is boundless. It squashes a man's ego. I feel lonely.”

It was pretty much Steyn who led me onto much of everyone and everything else per se. Onto incisive, researched, empirical, passionate, energetic, rational, inspiring [and footnoted!] conservative to libertarian adults like Jonah Goldberg, David Horowitz, Roger Kimball, Robert Spencer, John Stossel, Norman Podhoretz, Machosauce, Lt Colonel Allen B. West, Michelle Malkin, Humberto Fontova, Brigitte Gabriel, the great though flawed Christopher Hitchens, Wafa Sultan, Melanie Philips, Phyllis Chessler, many, many great bloggers and hell, plenty more.

Hey, notice how in the conservative libertarian world they not only have all the best selling worthwhile empirical books, but just as many great gals as guys? Interestin’ innit? The left talk, while conservatives walk.

The thing about Mark is that he has charm and balls. He’s always, always fun and a damn good laugh. I can read an entire Saturday edition of The Age and find it back to back mirthless. Unless one counts...no, The Age is a fucking drag.

He rarely lets even a slice of baloney pass without a surgical and naturally witty analysis, whether it’s the ever metastasising industrial park of cancerous Kabana of the MSM, government, academia, celebrity or the indoctrinated, incurious and ripped-off public.

We occasionally saddened souls of the lost art of reason find in Steyn the truth of things often laid embarrassingly bare. In fact, Mark is so consistently on the money that he’s invariably countered by the average Che the child killer fan, by ignoring everything Steyn writes and what they have just read and going straight for the meaningless and relentlessly codified ad hominem. Or not reading Steyn at all, which qualifies for a Marxist as being a Steyn analyst. Or is that just an anal list? Or a lisp?

The unsophisticated or too sophisticated, the mundane and the professionally glum often laughably misunderstand the wonderful purposeful and playful tangents that Steyn takes. Why does he and a few sainted others do it? Cos they can, cos why not and it's a laugh. It's also the naturally imaginative and talented at work, illuminating a point and a road often less taken by say, the MSM, governmental, celebrity and academic chicken farms.

When I first stumbled upon Steyn in er, The Age, I couldn’t believe it. “This is bloody great!” said I.

Now when I stumble across The Age I STILL can’t believe it. But in Steyn we trust. Here’s a an almost scientific formula that never seems to fail: as the number of Mark Steyn’s columns diminish in a newspaper, it’s in inverse proportion to how censorious, phony, dull and unreadable it becomes. And once it reaches the stage of say The Age, which now never prints any Marcus, it’s a useless pile of sheet. Or a sheet of useless piles. Either way. And it’s a fail safe indicator of how much PC social engineering global warming pro-Islamist Jew hating Marxist tripe they do print.

No Mark Steyn means a rhetoric and sly lies free edition of The Age, The Guardian or The New York Times et al, could be printed on a postage stamp. No, really. Or a piece of confetti. A small piece. Or the head of a pinhead. Or Andrew Jaspin.

In post No: 455,002, Steyn rounds up the spineless posturing of as Frank Zappa called it “tinsel town rebellion.” Via New Mexico Republicans:

“George Clooney’s triple Oscar nominations for acting, writing and directing are said to be a significant moment in the life of the nation, and not just by George Clooney, though his effusions on his own “bravery” certainly set a high mark. “We jumped in on our own,” he said, discussing Good Night, and Good Luck with Entertainment Weekly. “And there was no reason to think it was going to get any easier. But people in Hollywood do seem to be getting more comfortable with making these sorts of movies now. People are becoming braver.”

Wow. He was brave enough to make a movie about Islam’s treatment of women? Oh, no, wait. That was the Dutch director Theo van Gogh: He had his throat cut and half-a-dozen bullets pumped into him by an enraged Muslim who left an explanatory note pinned to the dagger he stuck in his chest. At last year’s Oscars, the Hollywood crowd were too busy championing the “right to dissent” in the Bushitler tyranny to find room even to name-check Mr. van Gogh in the montage of the deceased.

No, Mr. Clooney was the fellow “brave” enough to make a movie about – cue drumroll as I open the envelope for Most Predictable Direction – the McCarthy era!

Hollywood prefers to make “controversial” films about controversies that are settled, rousing itself to fight battles long won. Go Back to USA Today’s approving list of Hollywood’s willingness to “broach the touch issues”: “Brokeback and Capote for their portrayal of gay characters; Crash for its examination of racial tension...” That might have been “bold”, “courageous” move-making half-a-century ago. Doing it at a time when your typical conservative politician gets denounced as “homophobic” because he’s only in favor of civil unions is just an exercise in moral self-congratulation.

Hollywood “controversy” seems more an evasion of controversy. If you want it in a single word, it’s the difference between the title of George Jonas’s original book – Vengeance – and the title of the film Steven Spielberg made of it – Munich. Vengeance is a point of view, Munich is a round of self-applause for the point of view that having no point of view is the most sophisticated point of view of all.

In the meantime, Danish cartoonists are in hiding for their lives but George Clooney will be televised around the world picking up an award for his bravery.”

Colonel Neville: The closest we have to such ballsy, delicious and fluid Hendrixian riffing in Oz is Tim Blair and the well, less funny bt great value too of Andy Bolt.

Bolt is also judged as Dennis Miller noted of Fox, in absentia. Should I say balls and delicious so close together? Why not? My Japanese wife does.

Tim Blair bleeds The Age.

Speaking of enormous canasta's, Steyn clearly has the hip intellectual moral wit and analytical trouser tackle to well, tackle any subject and head on and is also a brilliant out-flanker.

Many times I’ve thought “of course!" The revealing block, side-step and counter punch and yet, still always done with a hearty laugh. Or the straight KAPOW!! to the rhetorical nose.

It’s no coincidence that he has a rather unique insight and interest in the layering of song and music and that his other vast aspects of recall inform what he does, dig? It used to be normal to have such an eclectic range of interests and pursuits. Not so many now though it appears. Ah, but that was when journalists were various different kinds of people, or as Mark said “people whose lives had gone terribly wrong!”

But obviously not for some. And the man flows. Hail Prolificus! Scribe to common man and the worthy King alike. Sure he has faults, but they may be mine. He said recently that a little of The Goon Show is enough. I was so disappointed I removed an orange from my Steyn shrine. And he kicks puppies. Or is that me? Oddly, like Peter and O’Toole, Mark and Steyn are words for the same thing and that’s how I like it. Once such a writer is in the soul, I’m not afraid to say that it’s Steyn Alone, sports. We just need more of ‘im.

Steyn link to something else.

Edit of Steyn on the PC neutering, [or newt ring?] of the less and less free men and women of the less and less free West.

“Mr. Li was able to pull his arm back into the bus, and returned to the rear of the bus, where he defiled the body of Tim McLean.”

There were over three dozen passengers on the bus, including in the seats around Li and McLean. The attacker “did not pay any attention to the other passengers” and at one point was stabbing his victim “as he lay on the floor.”

...there is no suggestion in the “agreed statement” that anyone attempted to disarm the “oblivious” Mr Li. I wonder if, in Tim McLean’s last conscious moments, he was aware that his fellow passengers had “vacated” the bus and barricaded him in with his murderer.

...the Mounties...sat outside the bus for 4½ hours even though Mr. Li was already waving Mr. McLean’s head around, and it was clear there was no one alive in the bus except the killer. Nevertheless, the RCMP passed the rest of the night watching Mr. Li slice up the body, and eat the bits that took his fancy...

...Had Mr. Li not got bored in the early hours of the morning and decided to leave the bus, they’d have sat there the rest of the week. Tim McLean’s parents are now suing the RCMP.

All the CRTC regulations and all the Cinedole Canada funding in the world can’t make that into a story Canadians want to tell themselves. But reporters are obliged to attempt it, and, when they do, you can’t help noticing a curious incuriosity—all the sly elisions, all the questions that go unasked in the rote calls for financial compensation and more nanny-state protection.

...Another lone nut and dozens of bystanders. Another Canadian story with no hero. No villain, either: Mr. Li has been declared not responsible for his actions, and that’s the club pretty much everyone else wants to get into. The Greyhound driver is said to have gone into shock. The passengers are suing the bus company for the mental trauma they’ve suffered from having to stand around on the highway watching Mr. Li decapitate their fellow passenger.

...these untypical Canadian stories are telling us something about typical Canadians—about what happens in the vacuum of abandoned social norms. Do you know the name Liviu Librescu? You should. He was a 76-year-old Holocaust survivor who was teaching a class at Virginia Tech one Monday morning in 2007 when gunshots were heard. He reacted immediately. He threw himself against the door and told his students to climb out the windows. He used his body as a barricade as long as he could, and was shot dead when the killer finally broke through.

Professor Librescu had lived under fascism and Communism, and perhaps was not so removed from the primal impulses as so many Westerners seem to be. But what about Lee Gordon-Brown, shot when the nut du jour stormed his classroom at Monash University in Melbourne with five loaded handguns? At the killer’s first pause, the wounded professor Gordon-Brown grabbed his hand. A student pitched in.

Two other men charged into the room, and, as the professor collapsed of his wounds, helped hold down the crazy guy until the cops arrived. This story is the precise inversion of the École Polytechnique: Instead of fleeing the scene, the men run into it, and toward their fate.

The “Canadian story” Canadians have told themselves for 40 years is a self-aggrandizing narrative of pacifism and social solidarity. There’s a lot of the former, not so much of the latter.”

Mark Steyn on Obama’s fascist socialist economic control freakery.

“In their first two months, Obama and Geithner have done nothing but vaporize your wealth, and your children's future.

Ahead of this week's G20 summit in London, Timothy Geithner, America's beloved Toxic Asset, called for "global regulation." "Our hope," said Toxic Tim, "is that we can work with Europe on a global framework, a global infrastructure which has appropriate global oversight."

“President Barack Obama fell back on one of his favourite rhetorical tics: "But I also know," he wrote, "that we need not choose between a chaotic and unforgiving capitalism and an oppressive government-run economy. That is a false choice that will not serve our people or any people."

Really? For the moment, it's a "false choice" mainly in the sense that he's not offering it: "a chaotic and unforgiving capitalism" is not on the menu, which leaves "an oppressive government-run economy" as pretty much the only game in town.

This year federal government spending will rise to 28.5 percent of GDP, the highest level ever, with the exception of the peak of the Second World War. The 44th president is proposing to add more to the national debt than the first 43 presidents combined, doubling it in the next six years, and tripling it within the decade.

It's not about bookkeeping, it's about government annexation of the economy, and thus of life: government supervision, government regulation, government control. No matter how small your small business is – plumbing, hairdressing, maple-sugaring – the state will be burdening you with more permits, more paperwork, more bureaucracy.

Bono, the global do-gooder who was last in Washington to play at the Obama inauguration, recently moved much of his business from Ireland to the Netherlands, in order to pay less tax. And good for him. To be sure, he's always calling on governments to give more money to Africa and whatnot, but it's heartening to know that, when it comes to his wallet as opposed to yours, Bono, like Secretary Geithner, has no desire to toss any more of his money into the great sucking maw of the government treasury than the absolute minimum he can get away with.”

Steyn on the Europianisation of America.

Steyn on how mealy mouthed PC boobs go gee, too far.

Steyn on the decay and Islamisation of Russia.

Steyn on that crazy Obama math.

Mark Steyn on Hugh Hewitt and how Barry can yap and yap and yap and yap and then do something insane: “...what is becoming clear is that he likes talking. He had some thing today, some cockamamie, you know, pseudo-town meeting, cyber town meeting on the internet. We know he can do that. He did it for a couple of years before last November. We know he can talk.

Peggy Noonan in the Wall Street Journal said it’s a time for leadership, not talkership, and that’s what we’re getting from him. Basically, he’s talked and talked and talked, meanwhile all his administration has done is vaporize American wealth now for two months. It’s destroying American wealth, it’s destroying American jobs, it’s destroying the global economy, and all he does is talk, talk, talk.

...And the way to think about Obama, I’ve concluded, is that essentially he’s not, he doesn’t have a political philosophy or a geopolitical vision. He’s a social engineer. And so his priority is always to grow government at the expense of any rival sources of legitimacy, and that’s what this charitable deduction thing does for him. ”

The magnificent, surgical, witty, fun and entirely correct Mark Steyn fillets another mediocre Leftard. Finds no guts, brains or bone structure in Liberal sardine.

“Mimicking the hollow boosterism of sonorous media baloney requires some skill, but if you’re in the business of “violent unseating,” it’s utterly inadequate to the task. And, after what feels like a somewhat dutiful slog through Juvenal, Swift, and Pope, you would expect Denby at least to be aware of the limitations imposed by the shriveled range of cultural reference within which the contemporary media “ironist” must operate.

It’s fun to riff off the conventions of cable news or American Idol, but it’s limiting. Observational humor requires folks to stick around long enough to observe.

Back in the 90’s, David Letterman did a Top Ten list about a Clinton/Yeltsin summit. It wasn’t going down so well, so, midway through, the host stopped to explain it to the audience: “The one guy eats, the other guy drinks. That’s all you need to know.”

Indeed. Denby’s “layer of knowingness” is really a wafer-thin veneer—knowingness for the unknowing. Bush? Dumb. McCain? Old. Palin? Hang on: Also dumb. When Denby bemoans “the feebleness of snark” by citing Maureen Dowd’s arthritic walker-dependent “running jokes” about “Poppy” Bush and “Babysitter” Cheney, he is, almost, on to something: This is sophisticated cynicism for the gullibly naïve.

Nevertheless, it is surely ironic that a writer who coos at every opportunity his appreciation of irony (“the most powerful of satiric weapons”) seems to lack the vital precondition for irony—the ability to imagine the other. Why is Bush so obviously a buffoon and Gore so profoundly a “serious man”? Well, because Denby voted for one and despises the other. Say what you will about the creators of the British magazine Private Eye, to whom he devotes considerable space, but they’re equal-opportunity jeerers.

In American terms, Richard Ingrams, Private Eye’s founder, would be reviled as a homophobe, a racist, and an anti-Semite. When co-owner Peter Cook’s comedy partner Dudley Moore went off to California in the late 1970’s to romance Bo Derek in 10, Cook was sympathetic: “I suppose if you’re a lower-middle-class midget from Dagenham with a club foot, being a Hollywood star must seem quite a good deal...

For my own part, I find the divide between Colbertian “irony” and Dowd-esque “snark” less of a chasm than Denby imagines: Both are part of a self-referential present-tense culture bobbing around in circles on the surface, and it’s foolish to argue degrees of precedence between flotsam and jetsam.”

Steyn on Obamanomicus.

“...when Barack Obama is accused of creating his Six-Trillion-Dollar Man “because I believe in bigger government” he denies it: “I don’t,” he says flatly. This is like Clark Kent telling Lois Lane he’s not Superman: They just look a bit similar when he removes his glasses...

Likewise, any connection between Obama and a Big Government behemoth swallowing everything in sight is entirely coincidental. .. Last week, the president redefined the relationship between the citizen and the state, in ways that make America closer to Europe. If you’ve still got the Webster’s to hand, “closer to Europe” is a sociopolitical colloquialism meaning “much worse..."

Is the new all-powerful Statezilla vulnerable to anything? Unfortunately, yes. He loses all his superpowers when he comes into contact with something called Reality.

But happily, Reality is nowhere in sight. There are believed to be some small surviving shards somewhere on the planet — maybe on an uninhabited atoll somewhere in the Pacific — but that’s just a rumor, and Barack Obama isn’t planning on running into Reality any time soon.”

Ted Striker and Elaine for a Republican victory in 2008!

The GOP campaign idiot elitist team watching Sarah Palin's Katie Couric interview, the polar opposite to Katie's usual MSM/Obama 69'er and felatio act. "You're losing altitude! Both engines are on fire! Stay calm!...I sure picked the wrong week to quit using crack cocaine!"

[Now updated with my rapidly and very changing views. Go figure. Apologies to Sarah Palin for my previous harsh and way off the mark analysis. No really. Just don't run for Vice Prez again, huh? Lt. Col Allen B. West for President and Liz Cheney for Vice Prsident! No really.]

Watch this video first. It's PJTV's great Bill Whittle. PJTV on "The Media, The Left and GOP Elitists vs. Sarah Palin: A Lesson on How to Destroy a Leader."

"The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." Plato.

“Liberals have no intention of actually parting with any of their own wealth or lifting a finger to help the poor. That's for other people to do with what's left of their incomes after the government has taken its increasingly large cut.

As the great liberal intellectual, [or circus freak asshole] Bertrand Russell explained, while scoffing at the idea that he would give his money to charity: "I'm afraid you've got it wrong. (We) are socialists. We don't pretend to be Christians." Anne Coulter on the hideous pro-gas chamber geek Bertrand Russell.

Colonel Neville: Now dig this. I've posted on the generally uniform appalling criminal left MSM treatment of Sarah Palin several times. Sarah is simply a very genuine, good person and Governor living the left liberals feminist fantasy in reality.

Palin is not a corrupt prduct of a corrupt political machine like Chicago as Obama is. Palin fought corruption in both parties effectively as Governor of Alaska. She has elected experience; a son in the military; loves America; works hard and did her job as Governor with "quiet confidence". Sarah can use a gun and owns them; she has a sense of humour and has a loyal, adult part-native Indian husband. Palin's an unabashed patriot and is genuinely attractive to men and women too etc.

Sadly, she's a conservative and this is not allowed with the liberal fraud of a diversity of their opinion and choices only.

Yep, she has some flaws and is not an intellectual, but so fucking what? Biden is dumber than dog hair and Obama has the typical speach patterns of a radical activist conman. You don't need intellectuals in government. I need mature, competent, constitutional, practical, experienced and honest achievers.

Much like McCain, Biden and the freakish Obama, large swathes of politics suck by different degrees and in startling ways. If I was an American citizen I'd still vote Republican, but they sure like to make it hard for conservatives lately, don't they? The same problem with the ersatz conservatives of the Australian alleged Conservative Party, [oddly known as the Liberal Party in Australia.]

Ok, but here is Sarah Palin’s beyond belief festival of cluelessness on MSM daily rags. Yes, “the horror, the horror”. Oh Christ, I had to look away. The unread but read “newspapers” segment. Yep, Katie Couric is well, a Class A liberal MSM Obamessiah lovin' phony, but I immediately thought of the 1980 spoof film Airplane! , and of the fellow passenger who hangs herself to escape from Ted Striker and his appallingly tedious life story.

Palin's life story is not tedious at all, but real, viceral, fertile, resonant and effective. Palin usually says what she means and means what she says. Thus liberals hate her.

Ah, the Airplane pilot freak out showing the entire range of food poisoning symptoms in rapid sequence made me think of McCain. The GOP McCain/Palin "team" was all so horribly and needlessly dissappointing that I still can't believe it. I even thought there was some slim chance of hope. Go figure.

I'm a conservative principles empirical rationalist, but the following vid shows Palin as well, fatally flawed. But then, WHO could hold up under the grilling of the MSM that Obambi NEVER, EVER received on ANYTHING?

Now if McCain's was as fit as Reagan was but no, he's just old, rather weird, stale, unfocused, unpredictable AND predictable, wrong, wacky and so half a Democrat progressive, that he was falling into the aisle reaching for the fraud of "bipartisanship".

[A little like Bush who was actually not Conservative enough and quite progressive in bog-standard ways. Thus the Bush Presidency’s massive spending, lack of reform, calling the nihilist pervert political project of Islam a “religion of peace” and the absurd belief in many other “progressive” memes of bullshit.]

Biden's a slimey sub-par career goofball and Obama's a fake Christian and authentic stoner, a life time Marxist socialist race hustler, a semi-Muslim, a pro-Islamist scumbag grievance peddler and a wilful incompetent. So take ya pick.

"Too bad George Zip never got to take a pick..."

I know what’s wrong with the Democrats, but what exactly is wrong with the Republicans that they would put up McCain, and what’s so very wrong with McCain that he’d put up Palin to the wolves? Good grief. Conservatism is a set of principles not a political suicide pact. McCain over and over again, refused to focus and sustain a serious atack on the Obamessiah with the harsh facts.

Shatner makes anything funny as ALLAHPUNDIT said, and Sarah is funny too. Yep, it IS a very funny vid. I couldn't watch it all for the embarrassment I felt. No really. What a final fiasco. Rambling, incoherent and touchingly naive. Thank God Joe Biden is like totally a genius and rad like, whatever. Totally. A genius. No. And Pelosi is soooo smart. Al Gore, Barney Frank. Very hip. No. The Obamessiah is the greatest mind ever like totally! No. Hit those bongoes!

Er, here’s another frightening and disastrous performance by Sarah Palin, in full with Katie Couric. I was alone and yet I had a pained and grimacing rictus smile of embarrassment. Why did Obama NEVER get this ambush treatment too? Well, Obama is ignorant of the right things and knows all about the Wright oh sorry, right things for a Marxist leftard freak and MSM darling.

Ah, whenever Obama smiles another child is cured of cancer.

Now on virtually every big subject worth a damn, Hitch is either courageously and entirely correct due to his enormous analytical ability and reading, or due to his residual Trotskyist Marxist leftardism, entirely wrong. I only post the stuff he gets right. No really.

Hitch gets around two thirds of things right on the Iraq war and the embarrassing tragedy of McCain etc, while much of the rest is classic Hitchen's logical fallacy and sophistry on Obama etc, which is still better than almost everyone elses logical fallacy and sophistry.

Hitch is almost right on Palins odd religious beliefs but not at all really, [that she's entitled to, Hitch old atheist chum] and how these beliefs are naturally open to question as she was running for vice Prez an' all. And wrong on his preferred candidate Obama, who did end up blowing a trillion of other peoples green backs. Oh sorry, it's three and a half TRILLION dollars.

Palin and McCain being embarrassingly and clearly not damn good enough to win, translates for Hitch into Obama being kind of superduper somehow? Hitch the obvious genius being empirically, conceptually and analytically wrong, makes me feel pretty damn smart! Wah hey! See, on my own blog, I can be conceited if I want to.

More from Anne Coulter: “At the Democratic National Convention, for example, there were heartfelt tributes to the daunting self-sacrifice of both Barack and Michelle Obama for passing up lucrative jobs to work in "public service" -- which apparently is now defined, such as in Michelle Obama's case, as "working as a 'diversity coordinator' at a big city hospital for $300,000 a year.

According to their tax returns, in 2006 and 2007, the Obamas gave 5.8 percent and 6.1 percent of their income to charity. I guess Michelle Obama has to draw the line someplace with all this "giving back" stuff. The Bidens gave 0.15 percent and 0.31 percent of the income to charity.

No wonder Obama doesn't see what the big fuss is over his decision to limit tax deductions for charitable giving. At least that part of Obama's tax plan won't affect his supporters.

Meanwhile, in 1991, 1992 and 1993, George W. Bush had incomes of $179,591, $212,313 and $610,772. His charitable contributions those years were $28,236, $31,914 and $31,292. During his presidency, Bush gave away more than 10 percent of his income each year.

For purposes of comparison, in 2005, Barack Obama made $1.7 million -- more than twice President Bush's 2005 income of $735,180 -- but they both gave about the same amount to charity.

That same year, the heartless Halliburton employee Vice President Dick Cheney gave 77 percent of his income to charity. The following year, in 2006, Bush gave more to charity than Obama on an income one-third smaller than Obama's. Maybe when Obama talks about "change" he's referring to his charitable contributions." Anne Coulter.

Sarah Palin and her embarrassing ignorance of standard scientific research techniques. Almost as embarrassing as Obama's utter ignorance of economics, freedom, defence and foreign policy etc, etc, etc.

Next is a fantastic discussion, with many elements and a range of viewpoints of the likes you will never see in the entirely dull and tiny Australian media. We are without news and forums, sports. Chris Matthews, Pat Buchanan and Mark Green mix it up and then some.

A whistlesblower who testified before Congress, on how the very huge KBR corporation stinks in Iraq and er, thus moves the ca$h biz to the highly er, ethical Cayman Islands. So by default, these Republicans et al, are gonna give a similar amount of their ca$h to "save the world" as Bono the tax shelter king meaning zero of his own taxable cash.

And finally, Obama sings Happy Birthday to Ted let the bitch drown Kennedy. And thus a Democrat "eleder statesman!"

“Happy Birthday Mary Jo Kopechne, you would have been much older today”.

"Do we operate under a system of equal justice under law? Or is there one system for the average citizen and another for the high and mighty?" Er, yes. The superb uber-hypocrisy of the rich elite and powerful bastard, Senator Ted Kennedy in 1973. Via the wonderfully named ytedk com.

Cat Litter Stevens. AKA Yusuck Islam!

Cat Stevens with his band The Al Aqsa Brothers, promoting Kid Koran's new album TNT for the Timid Man. This coincides with Tiddles, Global Caliphate Tour. The hit single from the album is a romantic cover of the old Middle-Eastern classic Begin the Beheading.

Christopher Hitchens on his friend Salman Rushdie, and a great empirical analysis on Iraq and the enemy that we do indeed face in Al Qaeda/Islam ad nauseum. Think of frequent and permanent guests of Saddam such as the major terrorists Abu Nidal, and Abu Abbas the murderer of wheelchair bound Jews, and Saddam's endless massive cheques for limitless and relentless Jihad etc.

Here the creepy Cat plays before his close pal Sheik Hamza Yusuf. Link via dicoverthenetworks org. The er, Sheik was born Mark Hanson to big surprise, academic parents. He's a Taquiyaa spouting, pro-terrorist scumbag friend of Jihadist geeks worldwide, and an infiltration Islamist PR Jew hating slimer par excellence.

Hamza Yusuf who clearly supports the goals of Muslim terrorists: "...pleasure and the world is created basically for play and entertainment and as a pastime, and music and dancing and basically bestial lower self behaviour and this is what they’re spreading all over the world". Hey, that's a healthy attitude...for a sociopath killer freak. Doesn't apply to the singing Cat shit though?

Warning: Both the Hamza vids are very boring even without the still shot of the Krazy Koran. The Sheik on “Dua, the Weapon of the Believer”. Dua is basically a Muslim bullshitting, trickery and intimidating tactic used on the Infidel and Kaffar. Via some classic absurd Islamic non-science rubbish, Hamza describes how to infiltrate a society with the PR deception of Du’a a la mad Mohammad, but explains how nice that is.

Sheik Hamza Yusuf. “Allah is with those who submit”. Part 1 of 2. The Sheik attacks Jewish and Christian belief for not being true Muslims, and how to separate without er, separating, cos we must all be true Muslims anyway. Amazing inversions of faux tolerance that actually says we must all be total Muslims in the end, or else. And lots of hidden stuff in Arabic, as per usual.

“The first cut is the deepest, baby I know”. Cat 'Fluffy' Stevens.

From Saturday October 04 2008.

Dear sports, now I’m a decent fellow, a marvellous chap and an excellent chum. The kind of man that can be relied upon to be a regular sort, a charming and witty guest but sadly, I have flaws. No please, sit down. I do. I have an appalling temper due to er, actual experiences. It’s my natural inner Jimmy Barnes and Bruce Lee. In my natural habitat I’m as playful and contented as a kitten. No, really.

Yep, I sometimes say words, shocking words to my wife, like poo poo, wee wee and even Clinton and it’s funny, but you do. It’s because one can feel cornered when harassed in the home and outside and you get that nauseating, panicking loss of autonomy and so on.

I’m the kind of guy who would be happy living in a simple beach shack, a simple cutting edge three story beach shack, with simple mains electricity, simple millions of dollars, the Internet, a Marshall 100 Watt valve amplifier or two and a few dozen strats, cars and motorbikes.

Oh yes, and a dune buggy, a vast range of books and a fantastic rack of guns, must have guns. Especially that nice little Smith & Wesson M76 submachine gun I have my mind set on. But I digress. As I said, I’m a simple soul who would be content with simply having everything I need.

Now, I don’t dig that relentless kind of crowding in feel. Like there’s "nowhere to run to, baby, nowhere to hide. When I look in the mirror to…”

Ah, Martha and the Vandellas. But I digress again.

Yeah, that feeling that something wicked, dirty and evil is coming to get me, that doesn’t respect much at all and want’s me well, dead. Hey, I don’t mean my wife. She’s a wonderful person and bathes regularly.

Nope, I’m talking about the crappy feeling I get from the wonderful worlds of Islam and its very best friend, the Left Liberal. And you are, kids, getting indoctrinated daily in a million subtle and not so subtle ways with this dangerous and debilitating bunk, via that old reliable enemy of the people, the MSM, [mainstream media].

Now, I missed an SBS show on current British Islamist freak and ex-pop star, Cat Box Stevens now known as Yusuf 'effing Islam. Gee, I wonder why I made no effort to watch it? Maybe because Cat Stephens is a cunt. Could be.

Yusuf Islam is such an arrogant and smug Taquiyaa creep fraud, with his true face of classic Islamist sedition, that it beggars belief. And all his clueless pop fans dig the image, which is entirely worthless. Go figure.

And maybe because the chances of SBS TV not saying how top ho and simply wonderful the fur faced, diseased true personality of the Cat pie is, measures in my experience at about er, zero. Yes, maybe that’s it.

The same chances as SBS not showing Che the child killer Guevara as a kind of hero. And of course they recently did just that, showing him as a pretty great guy for a sadistic coward. It was a celebration of all things Che the child killer. Or ever criticising the hordes of disgustingly deluded apologist freak celebrities and others shit fans in love with a child murderer. Mostly via a photograph!

"It was necessary!" That’s why he loved to shoot fourteen year old boys in the head. To free the people! So right on! See how all these totalitarian bastards of Islamism, Communism ad nauseum all line up so perfectly eventually?

Anyway, Che’s personal designing of concentration camps and eager participation as head shooter in his many firing squad execution picnics doesn't worry Carlos Santana, Robert Redford, Jonny Depp or Angelina Jolie . Everything and anything is always excusable and required in Leftard land.

The only accurate description of Che the crap bag is of a narcissistic uber sadist, coward, buffoon, incompetent fraud, who just happened to be boosted by sycophantic Western journalistas with juvenile rebel fantasies. Guevara was a usually overweight, never worked ever parasite that just happened to looked thin and in the current fashion of a ‘rebel’ of the time, after getting lost repeatedly and starving in the jungle.

Che' despised just about everyone but himself, whom he was deeply in love with of course. The exact number of people Che ever freed or actually helped in any tangible way such as economically or free to travel, express or think etc, unless also also gangster killer frauds, is precisely zero.

He is merely, as Che Mart says, “The world’s greatest T shirt salesman”.

Unless SBS says that Cat flap was merely once a talented pop song writer and is now an Islamist dirt bag, an pro-Jihad freak and a Taqiyaa peddler living off the kind of success he could only have in the free Capitalist Democracies of the West, while supporting a vile ideology that seeks to annihilate the free Western world as we know it...

Well, unless they say all that and more, I’m a afraid that the many full-time dhimmi bastards at SBS TV, will be a little off the mark with old Whiskers.

“Do you remember the days of the old car bomb; we used to blast a lot?”

Sadly I can't locate the nice vid on YouTube of Cat being interviewed on the profoundly bankrupt BBC, where Yusuck says how it’s pretty cool with him to murder Salman Rushdie for insulting “the filth of Islam”, as Christopher Hitchens has rightly called the world’s most violent, problematic and intolerant non-religion.

“Oh, I'm bein' followed by a loon shadow, loon shadow, loon shadow.
Leapin and hoppin' like a loon shadow, loon shadow, loon shadow.
And if I ever lose my hands, lose my head etc”.

Hey, a minor miracle! Yesterday morning while driving around 0900, I caught the end of a program on ABC Radio National that was amazingly a little bit critical of Cat Crap and his adopted freak beliefs. I had to stop the car! A moment of clarity! On government radio! Imagine...

Anyway, the little bit of an interview with cat scratch fever and a journo from the ABC was just too good. I copied it down as best as I could using a banana to write on a Frisbee. And it went pretty much like this.

The happy couple were discussing things using Yousuck’s patented one way traffic lecture method. "It's the way it is" he says. "There are no if’s, but’s or maybe’s..." in the religion of peace, or else!

Gee, ya don't say? Islam seems so reasonable an' all. So, the ABC journo concerned asks if Salman is entitled to give his view of Islam? Er, no, not according to Cat Woman with facial hair. Phiisssst! It’s only OK to speak about "the truth of the messenger of Islam, the Prophet Mohammad". So no criticism is valid criticism basically. Check.

Clearly no one else can ever ever mention the war, er Islam, er, Mohammad the freak, er, the filth of, er, the Krazy Koran, er, the Cat piles dead and dated musical career etc, etc. Yes, it's some crazy man love Krazy Kat has for Mad Mo. Just like his song Lady D’Arbanville. Maybe that’s who the Lady was all along!

“I loved you my lady, though in your grave you lie,
I'll always be with you”.

Touching. Bring the butter.

And then after a little more pro-Jihad and pro-murder mayhem from Shakin’ the Finger Stevens comes the kicker, kids. The following is as close as I could quickly scribble it down, and er, it’s pretty damn close too.

Journo: “Is it fair to put a death sentence on a messenger? [Salman Rushdie]”

Krazy Kat: “You may know that I once wrote a song called ‘I’m gonna get me a gun?’ Now you know who the gun is for. It’s for people that ask provocative questions like you!”.

Riiight. Peaceful message. Check. Cat Steven's image is "peace and understanding man!" A total fraud. His reality is a pro-Jihadist murder and Muslim loon fucker.

Says it all regards this scumbag, don’t it? Oh right. Maybe Cat is really Left Liberal in his views on women or gays and so on? Er, riiight. Yeah, he just has a thing for murdering private citizen Infidels who don’t agree with him or just offend his highly tuned sense of Muslim paranoia, but he’s so cool otherwise. What a rube. What a creep. What a Muslim sideshow tyre iron. What a rotten guy.

How can such a bankrupt hero of pop fans with an utterly phony message of peace get away with it? And gee, how do ya think such a loon will behave when Britain collapses into the black hole of Londonistan?

“Baby, baby, it’s a Jihad world, is easy to get by just upon my lies, girl”.

This is what Cat really believes. And er, this geek can travel freely in Australia after threatening to use a gun on an ABC journalist? Hey, it was just a joke? Hey! Its hilarious then! Ha, ha, ah, ha, ha, ha, ha...right.

Just like his song Can’t Keep It In.

"Oh I can't keep it in, I can't keep it in, I've gotta let it out.
I've got to show the world, world's got to see, see all the hate,
hate that's in me. I said, why walk alone, why worry when it's
warm over here. You've got so much to say, say what you mean,
mean what you're thinking, and think anything”.

Pretty explosive, eh? And why not. Why people refuse to take Islamic loons at the word, I don’t know. Actually I do. It’s beyond the perceptions of the average PC Leftard to conceive of someone taking religion so seriously, because no Leftoid does. But some do, like our hero, the Islamist Furball.

“Piece of Train. [Peace Train]

Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come.
And I believe Islam could be, some Jihad has begun.

Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world Islam.
And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come. ("Hey, try France and Britain etc".)

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides Madrid train.
Oh piece of train take this country, come take me home again.

Oh piece of train sounding louder.
Glide on the pieces of train,
Come on now pieces of train.
Yes, piece of train Holy roller.

Everyone jump offa the piece of train! ("My legs have been blown off!")
Come on now pieces of train.

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too. ("Improvised Explosive Devices? Check".)
Cause it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you.

Now come and join the dying, it's not so far from you.
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true.

Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is.
We want to go on hating. When can we live in a Caliphate?”

Hey, back to 1492! Now that’s Moorish!

“Don't be a bad girl, Yusuf.
But if you wanna leave, take good care.
I hope you make a lot of nice friends out there.
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware”.
